Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples invaded the country.

Each year the people planted their crops. When they did, the Midianites came into the country and attacked it. So did the Amalekites and other tribes from the east.

For whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them.

Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, marauders from Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east would attack Israel,

他的家产有七千只羊、三千匹骆驼、五百对牛、五百头母驴，并且有许多仆婢。这人在全东方的人中至为尊贵。

雅各继续前行，到了东方人的地方。

那时，西巴和撒慕拿正在加各，与他们在一起的军队约有一万五千人，就是东方人全营剩下的，因为有十二万持刀的已经倒下了。

所罗门的智慧大过所有东方人的智慧，大过埃及人的一切智慧。

那时，米甸人、亚玛力人和东方人，都聚集起来，过了河，在耶斯列平原安营。

你要撒种，却不得收割，你要榨橄榄油，却不得油抹身；你要榨葡萄汁，却不得酒喝。

就愿我所种的，让别人来吃，愿我田中出产的，都连根拔起来。

我就要这样待你们：我必命惊慌临到你们，痨病热病使你们眼目昏花，心灵憔悴；你们必徒然撒种，因为你们的仇敌必吃尽你们的出产。

你和女子订了婚，别人必和她同寝；你建造房屋，必不得住在里面；你栽种葡萄园，必不得享用它的果子。你的牛在你眼前被宰了，你必不得吃它的肉；你的驴从你面前被抢夺了，必不归还给你；你的羊群交给了你的仇敌，必没有人拯救。你的儿女必被交给别国的民，你必亲眼看见，日日为他们焦虑；你必无能为力。你土地的出产和你劳碌得来的一切，都必被你不认识的民族吃尽；你必常常受压迫和压制；

他们必吞吃你牲畜所生的和你土地所产的，直到把你消灭；必不给你留下五谷、新酒和油、幼小的牛，以及肥嫩的羊，直到使你灭亡为止。

他们必建造房屋，住在其中；他们必栽种葡萄园，吃其中的果子。他们不建造由别人来居住的房屋；他们不栽种由别人来享用的葡萄园；因为我的子民的日子必像树木的日子；我的选民必充分享用他们亲手作工得来的。
