Some came from Ephraim, whose roots were in Amalek; Benjamin was with the people who followed you. From Makir captains came down, from Zebulun those who bear a commander’s staff.

Some came from the part of Ephraim where some Amalekites lived. Some from Benjamin were with the people who followed Ephraim. Captains came down from Makir. Those who rule like commanders came down from Zebulun.

From Ephraim their root they marched down into the valley, following you, Benjamin, with your kinsmen; from Machir marched down the commanders, and from Zebulun those who bear the lieutenant’s staff;

They came down from Ephraim— a land that once belonged to the Amalekites; they followed you, Benjamin, with your troops. From Makir the commanders marched down; from Zebulun came those who carry a commander’s staff.

Those with their roots in Amalek came from Ephraim; Benjamin came with your people after you. The leaders came down from Machir, and those who carry a marshal’s staff came from Zebulun.

From Ephraim those whose root is in Amalek came down, Following you, Benjamin, with your peoples; From Machir commanders came down, And from Zebulun those who wield the staff of office.

Those with their roots in Amalek came from Ephraim; Benjamin came with your people after you. The leaders came down from Machir, and those who carry a marshal’s staff came from Zebulun.

They came from Ephraim, who uprooted Amalek, they follow after you, Benjamin, with your soldiers. From Makir leaders came down, from Zebulun came the ones who march carrying an officer’s staff.

Those whose root is in Amalek came out of Ephraim, after you, Benjamin, among your peoples. Governors come down out of Machir. Those who handle the marshal’s staff came out of Zebulun.

玛拿西的儿子玛吉的子孙往基列去，占了那地，赶出那里的亚摩利人。摩西把基列赐给玛拿西的儿子玛吉，他就住在那里。

那时，亚玛力来到利非订，和以色列争战。摩西对约书亚说：“你为我们选出人来，出去和亚玛力争战。明天我要站在山顶上，手里拿着上帝的杖。”于是，约书亚照着摩西对他所说的话去做，和亚玛力争战。摩西、亚伦和户珥都上了山顶。摩西何时举手，以色列就得胜；何时垂手，亚玛力就得胜。但摩西的双手沉重，他们就搬一块石头来放在他下面，他就坐在上面。亚伦与户珥扶着他的手，一个在这边，一个在那边，他的手就稳住，直到日落。约书亚用刀打败了亚玛力和他的百姓。耶和华对摩西说：“你要把这事记录在书上作纪念，又念给约书亚听：我要把亚玛力的名字从天下全然涂去。”摩西筑了一座坛，起名叫“耶和华尼西”。他说：“我指着耶和华的宝座发誓，耶和华必世世代代和亚玛力争战。”

她住在以法莲山区拉玛和伯特利的中间，在底波拉的棕树下。以色列人都上到她那里去听审判。她派人从拿弗他利的基低斯把亚比挪庵的儿子巴拉召来，对他说：“耶和华—以色列的上帝吩咐你：‘你要率领一万拿弗他利人和西布伦人上他泊山去。

巴拉召集西布伦人和拿弗他利人到基低斯，跟他上去的有一万人。底波拉也同他上去。

底波拉对巴拉说：“起来，今日就是耶和华把西西拉交在你手中的日子。耶和华岂不在你前面行吗？”于是巴拉下了他泊山，跟随他的有一万人。
