这时，来了另外一群牧人要把她们赶走。摩西便起来帮助她们，打水饮她们的羊群。她们回到父亲流珥那里，父亲问她们：“你们今天怎么这么快就回来了？”她们答道：“有一个埃及人救我们免遭牧人的欺负，还帮我们打水饮羊群。”

你们必须把二人带到城门口，用石头打死他们。那女子该死，因为她在城中却没有高声呼救；那男子该死，因为他奸污了别人的妻子。你们必须除去你们中间的罪恶。

以色列人选择新的神明，便战祸临门，四万以色列人中找不到一矛一盾。

我们喝水要付钱，烧的柴要用钱买。

基拉耳的牧人与以撒的牧人争吵起来，都说：“这口井是我们的。”于是，以撒便称那口井为埃色。后来，以撒的仆人又挖了一口井，他们双方又为那口井发生争执，以撒便称那口井为西提拿。以撒离开那里，又挖了一口水井。这次，他们没有为那口井争吵。所以，以撒称那口井为利河伯。以撒说：“如今耶和华给了我们一个宽阔的地方，我们可以在这里繁荣兴旺。”

“那时，我去城门口，到广场就坐，

他们要诉说你的厚恩，歌颂你的公义。

你们必从救恩的泉源欢然取水。

旷野中杀机四伏，我们冒着生命危险才得到粮食。

“你站在耶和华殿的门口这样宣告，‘从这些门进殿敬拜耶和华的犹大人啊，你们要听耶和华的话。

祂必使审判官公正断案，赐力量给守城退敌之人。
