「如果案件複雜，難以決斷，如謀殺、訴訟、人身傷害等，就要把案件帶到你們的上帝耶和華選定的地方，交給當值的利未祭司和審判官去審理。你們必須執行他們在耶和華所選擇的地方宣告的判決，你們要謹慎遵行他們的一切指示。他們教導你們律法，宣佈判決後，你們必須完全執行，絲毫不可偏離。如果有人不肯接受事奉你們上帝耶和華的祭司和審判官的判決，就必須處死他。如此，你們便從以色列除掉了罪惡，

那五個非利士首領看見了這一切後，就在當天回以革倫去了。非利士人獻給耶和華的金毒瘡是分別為亞實突、迦薩、亞實基倫、迦特和以革倫賠罪的。

有一個以法蓮人名叫以利加拿，住在以法蓮山區的拉瑪·瑣非城。他是蘇弗的玄孫、托戶的曾孫、以利戶的孫子、耶羅罕的兒子。

我親自審理他們中間的是非，教他們認識上帝的律例和法度。」

第二天，摩西坐著審理百姓的糾紛，百姓從早到晚都站在摩西周圍。

又從伯特利，即路斯，沿著亞基人的邊境，直到亞他綠，

你要聽我的勸告，願上帝與你同在。你要做百姓的代表，把案件奏明上帝，

他常常清早起來，站在城門的通道旁邊。每當有人來找王審理爭訟時，押沙龍便問他是從哪一座城來的，那人就會報上自己所屬的支派。押沙龍會對他說：「你的申訴合情合理，可惜王沒有派人來聽你申訴。」他接著會說：「要是我被立為國中的審判官就好了！那樣，任何人有申訴都可以來找我，我一定會為他主持公道。」每當有人要向他叩拜，他都伸手扶他，親吻他。押沙龍這樣對待每一個來向王申訴的以色列人，贏得了民心。

耶和華說：「在拉瑪有痛哭哀號的聲音，是拉結在為兒女哀痛，不肯接受安慰，因為他們都死了。」
