你们必追赶仇敌，他们必在你们面前倒在刀下。你们五个人必追赶一百人，一百人必追赶一万人；你们的仇敌必在你们面前倒在刀下。

你们却不可站着，要追赶你们的仇敌，从后面击杀他们，不可让他们逃进自己的城中，因为耶和华你们的神已经把他们交在你们的手里了。”约书亚和以色列人把他们杀得惨败，直到把他们灭绝为止，那些逃脱的人都逃进设防的城里；

耶和华把他们交在以色列人手里，以色列人就击杀他们，追赶他们直到西顿大城、米斯利弗．玛音，以及在东边的米斯巴谷；以色列人击杀他们，没有留下一个。

他使战车、马匹、军兵和勇士都一同出来，他们都躺下去，不能再起来；他们都灭没，好像灯火熄灭一样。

愿罪人从世上灭绝，也不再有恶人存在。我的心哪！你要称颂耶和华。你们要赞美耶和华。
