The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord; they forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs.

卻要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，砍下他們的木偶。

以色列人又行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，耶和華就使摩押王伊磯倫強盛，攻擊以色列人。

他的禱告，與神怎樣應允他，他未自卑以前的罪愆過犯，並在何處建築邱壇，設立亞舍拉和雕刻的偶像，都寫在何賽的書上。

當那夜，耶和華吩咐基甸說：「你取你父親的牛來，就是那七歲的第二隻牛，並拆毀你父親為巴力所築的壇，砍下壇旁的木偶，

亞撒王貶了他祖母瑪迦太后的位，因她造了可憎的偶像亞舍拉。亞撒砍下她的偶像，搗得粉碎，燒在汲淪溪邊。

他們離棄耶和華－他們列祖神的殿，去事奉亞舍拉和偶像；因他們這罪，就有忿怒臨到猶大和耶路撒冷。

以色列人行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，去事奉諸巴力，離棄了領他們出埃及地的耶和華－他們列祖的神，去叩拜別神，就是四圍列國的神，惹耶和華發怒；並離棄耶和華，去事奉巴力和亞斯她錄。

又從耶和華殿裏將亞舍拉搬到耶路撒冷外汲淪溪邊焚燒，打碎成灰，將灰撒在平民的墳上；

重新建築他父希西家所拆毀的邱壇，又為巴力築壇，做木偶，且敬拜事奉天上的萬象，

「你只要謹慎，殷勤保守你的心靈，免得忘記你親眼所看見的事，又免得你一生，這事離開你的心；總要傳給你的子子孫孫。

現在你當差遣人，招聚以色列眾人和事奉巴力的那四百五十個先知，並耶洗別所供養事奉亞舍拉的那四百個先知，使他們都上迦密山去見我。」

亞哈又做亞舍拉，他所行的惹耶和華－以色列神的怒氣，比他以前的以色列諸王更甚。

「你為耶和華－你的神築壇，不可在壇旁栽甚麼樹木作為木偶。

又打碎柱像，砍下木偶，將人的骨頭充滿了那地方。

他作王第八年，尚且年幼，就尋求他祖大衛的神。到了十二年才潔淨猶大和耶路撒冷，除掉邱壇、木偶、雕刻的像，和鑄造的像。

又拆毀祭壇，把木偶和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍斷以色列遍地所有的日像，就回耶路撒冷去了。
