「要謹慎、小心，不可忘記親眼所見的事，要一生銘記在心，並且告訴子子孫孫。

他還造了亞舍拉神像，所作所為比先前諸王更惹以色列的上帝耶和華發怒。

他拆毀祭壇和亞舍拉神像，把偶像磨成粉末，砍掉以色列境內所有的香壇，然後回到耶路撒冷。
