非利士人聚集，要与以色列人争战，有车三万辆，马兵六千，步兵像海边的沙那样多，就上来在伯亚文东边的密抹安营。

“西布伦必住在海口，必成为停船的海口；他的境界必延到西顿。

耶和华将他们交在以色列人手里，以色列人就击杀他们，追赶他们到西顿大城，到米斯利弗玛音，直到东边米斯巴的平原，将他们击杀，没有留下一个。约书亚就照耶和华所吩咐他的去行，砍断他们马的蹄筋，用火焚烧他们的车辆。当时，约书亚转回夺了夏琐，用刀击杀夏琐王。（素来夏琐在这诸国中是为首的。）以色列人用刀击杀城中的人口，将他们尽行杀灭；凡有气息的没有留下一个。约书亚又用火焚烧夏琐。约书亚夺了这些王的一切城邑，擒获其中的诸王，用刀击杀他们，将他们尽行杀灭，正如耶和华仆人摩西所吩咐的。至于造在山冈上的城，除了夏琐以外，以色列人都没有焚烧。约书亚只将夏琐焚烧了。

从何珥山划到哈马口，通到西达达，

又去见东方和西方的迦南人，与山地的亚摩利人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人，并黑门山根米斯巴地的希未人。

迦南生长子西顿，又生赫和耶布斯人、亚摩利人、革迦撒人、希未人、亚基人、西尼人、亚瓦底人、洗玛利人、哈马人，后来迦南的诸族分散了。迦南的境界是从西顿向基拉耳的路上，直到迦萨，又向所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛、洗扁的路上，直到拉沙。

非利士人的首领各率军队，或百或千，挨次前进；大卫和跟随他的人同着亚吉跟在后边。

这样，神使迦南王耶宾被以色列人制伏了。从此以色列人的手越发有力，胜了迦南王耶宾，直到将他灭绝了。

五人就走了，来到拉亿，见那里的民安居无虑，如同西顿人安居一样。在那地没有人掌权扰乱他们；他们离西顿人也远，与别人没有来往。

金老鼠的数目是照非利士五个首领的城邑，就是坚固的城邑和乡村，以及大磐石。这磐石是放耶和华约柜的，到今日还在伯示麦人约书亚的田间。

耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，就把他们交在非利士人和亚扪人的手中。
