Ehud then approached him while he was sitting alone in the upper room of his palace and said,“ I have a message from God for you.” As the king rose from his seat,

Then Ehud approached him. King Eglon was sitting alone in the upstairs room of his palace. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” So the king got up from his seat.

And Ehud came to him as he was sitting alone in his cool roof chamber. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” And he arose from his seat.

Ehud walked over to Eglon, who was sitting alone in a cool upstairs room. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you!” As King Eglon rose from his seat,

Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in his upstairs room where it was cool. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you,” and the king stood up from his throne.

Then Ehud came to him while he was sitting in his cool roof chamber alone. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” And he got up from his seat.

So Ehud came to him( now he was sitting upstairs in his cool private chamber). Then Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” So he arose from his seat.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in his room upstairs where it was cool. Ehud said,“ I have a word from God for you,” and the king stood up from his throne.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of[ his] seat.

When Ehud approached him, he was sitting in his well-ventilated upper room all by himself. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” When Eglon rose up from his seat,

Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.

我要拆毀過冬和避暑的房屋，象牙的房屋必毀滅，廣廈豪宅都歸無有。」這是耶和華說的。

萬國的王啊，誰不敬畏你？敬畏你本是合宜的；列國所有的智慧人中，在他們一切的國度裏，都沒有能與你相比的。

神的子民哪，你們要將榮耀、能力歸給耶和華，都歸給耶和華！

耶和華向這城呼叫－看重你的名是真智慧－你們當聽懲罰和派定懲罰的人。

「你去告訴大衛：『耶和華如此說：我向你提出三樣，隨你選擇一樣，我好降給你。』」

耶和華差遣拿單到大衛那裏。拿單到了他那裏，對他說：「在一座城裏有兩個人，一個是富翁，一個是窮人。富翁有極多的牛羣羊羣；窮人除了所買來養活的一隻小母羊之外，一無所有。小羊在他家裏和他兒女一同長大，吃他所吃的，喝他所喝的，睡在他懷中，在他看來如同女兒一樣。有一客人來到這富翁那裏，富翁捨不得從自己的牛羣羊羣中取一隻招待來到他那裏的旅客，卻取了窮人的小母羊，招待來到他那裏的人。」大衛就非常惱怒那人，對拿單說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，做這事的人該死！他必須償還小母羊四倍，因為他做這事，沒有憐憫的心。」拿單對大衛說：「你就是那人！耶和華－以色列的神如此說：『我膏你作以色列的王，我救你脫離掃羅的手；我將你主人的家業賜給你，將你主人的妃嬪交在你懷裏，又將以色列和猶大家賜給你；若還嫌少，我也會如此這般加倍賜給你。你為甚麼藐視耶和華的命令，做他眼中看為惡的事呢？你用刀擊殺赫人烏利亞，又娶了他的妻子為妻，借亞捫人的刀殺死他。現在刀劍必永不離開你的家，因你藐視我，娶了赫人烏利亞的妻子為妻。』耶和華如此說：『看哪，我必從你家中興起災禍攻擊你；我必在你眼前把你的妃嬪賜給你身邊的人，他要在光天化日下與你的妃嬪同寢。你在暗中做那事，我卻要在以色列眾人面前，在日光之下做這事。』」大衛對拿單說：「我得罪耶和華了！」拿單說：「耶和華已經除去你的罪，你必不至於死。只是在這事上，你大大藐視耶和華，因此，你生的孩子必定要死。」拿單就回家去了。耶和華擊打烏利亞的妻子為大衛生的孩子，他就得了重病。

但他自己卻從靠近吉甲的雕像那裏轉回來，說：「王啊，我有一件機密的事要奏告你。」王說：「迴避吧！」於是所有侍立在他左右的人都退去了。
