Ehud then approached him while he was sitting alone in the upper room of his palace and said,“ I have a message from God for you.” As the king rose from his seat,

Then Ehud approached him. King Eglon was sitting alone in the upstairs room of his palace. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” So the king got up from his seat.

And Ehud came to him as he was sitting alone in his cool roof chamber. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” And he arose from his seat.

Ehud walked over to Eglon, who was sitting alone in a cool upstairs room. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you!” As King Eglon rose from his seat,

Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in his upstairs room where it was cool. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you,” and the king stood up from his throne.

Then Ehud came to him while he was sitting in his cool roof chamber alone. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” And he got up from his seat.

So Ehud came to him( now he was sitting upstairs in his cool private chamber). Then Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” So he arose from his seat.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in his room upstairs where it was cool. Ehud said,“ I have a word from God for you,” and the king stood up from his throne.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of[ his] seat.

When Ehud approached him, he was sitting in his well-ventilated upper room all by himself. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” When Eglon rose up from his seat,

Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.

我要拆毀過冬和避暑的房屋，搗毀象牙裝飾的宮殿，推倒許多宏偉的樓宇。這是耶和華說的。」

萬國的王啊，誰不敬畏你？敬畏你是理所當然的。因為萬國的智者和君王中無人能與你相比。

上帝的眾子啊，要讚美耶和華，讚美祂的榮耀和能力，

耶和華在向耶路撒冷呼喊，智者必敬畏祂的名。祂說：「聚在城裡的眾人啊，你們要聽！

「你去告訴大衛，耶和華說，『我有三樣災禍，你可以選擇讓我降哪一樣給你。』」

耶和華派拿單先知去見大衛。拿單對大衛說：「一座城裡有兩個人，一個富有，一個貧窮。富人擁有許多牛羊，窮人除了自己買來養的一隻母羊羔以外，什麼也沒有。他悉心飼養母羊羔，讓牠跟自己的兒女一起長大，他吃什麼，羊也吃什麼，他喝什麼，羊也喝什麼，還睡在他的懷中，就像他的女兒一樣。一天，富人家中來了客人，他捨不得拿自己的牛羊款待客人，卻宰了窮人的羊給客人吃。」大衛聽後非常憤怒，對拿單說：「我憑永活的耶和華起誓，這人實在該死！他真是沒有半點憐憫之心，他必須償還那窮人四倍！」拿單對大衛說：「那人就是你！以色列的上帝耶和華這樣說，『我膏立你做以色列的王，從掃羅手中救你，將你主人的家業和妻妾交給你，把以色列和猶大的國權賜給你。倘若還不夠，我會再加倍地賜給你。你為什麼蔑視我的命令，做出我視為可憎的事呢？你藉亞捫人的刀殺了赫人烏利亞，把他的妻子據為己有。因為你藐視我，把赫人烏利亞的妻子據為己有，從今以後，殺戮流血的事必永不離開你的家。』耶和華說，『我要在你家中降下災禍，我要當著你的面把你的妻妾交給你的近臣，他必在光天化日之下與她們行淫。你在暗地裡做這惡事，我要讓這樣的惡事當著以色列人的面在光天化日之下臨到你。』」大衛對拿單說：「我得罪了耶和華。」拿單說：「耶和華已經赦免了你的罪，使你不致死亡。但你做的醜事給了仇敵褻瀆耶和華的機會，所以你這個孩子必定死。」拿單說完，便回家去了。耶和華擊打烏利亞的妻子給大衛生的孩子，使他患重病。

到了吉甲附近雕石神像的地方，他讓抬貢物的人先回去，自己則折回王宮，對王說：「王啊，我有機密稟告。」王就命左右的人迴避。
