以笏至王前、王獨坐涼樓、以笏曰、我奉天主命、有事告王、王乃離坐而起、

Ehud then approached him while he was sitting alone in the upper room of his palace and said,“ I have a message from God for you.” As the king rose from his seat,

Then Ehud approached him. King Eglon was sitting alone in the upstairs room of his palace. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” So the king got up from his seat.

And Ehud came to him as he was sitting alone in his cool roof chamber. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” And he arose from his seat.

Ehud walked over to Eglon, who was sitting alone in a cool upstairs room. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you!” As King Eglon rose from his seat,

Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in his upstairs room where it was cool. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you,” and the king stood up from his throne.

Then Ehud came to him while he was sitting in his cool roof chamber alone. And Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” And he got up from his seat.

So Ehud came to him( now he was sitting upstairs in his cool private chamber). Then Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” So he arose from his seat.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in his room upstairs where it was cool. Ehud said,“ I have a word from God for you,” and the king stood up from his throne.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of[ his] seat.

When Ehud approached him, he was sitting in his well-ventilated upper room all by himself. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God for you.” When Eglon rose up from his seat,

Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said,“ I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.

我要拆毁过冬和避暑的房屋，捣毁象牙装饰的宫殿，推倒许多宏伟的楼宇。这是耶和华说的。”

万国的王啊，谁不敬畏你？敬畏你是理所当然的。因为万国的智者和君王中无人能与你相比。

上帝的众子啊，要赞美耶和华，赞美祂的荣耀和能力，

耶和华在向耶路撒冷呼喊，智者必敬畏祂的名。祂说：“聚在城里的众人啊，你们要听！

“你去告诉大卫，耶和华说，‘我有三样灾祸，你可以选择让我降哪一样给你。’”

耶和华派拿单先知去见大卫。拿单对大卫说：“一座城里有两个人，一个富有，一个贫穷。富人拥有许多牛羊，穷人除了自己买来养的一只母羊羔以外，什么也没有。他悉心饲养母羊羔，让它跟自己的儿女一起长大，他吃什么，羊也吃什么，他喝什么，羊也喝什么，还睡在他的怀中，就像他的女儿一样。一天，富人家中来了客人，他舍不得拿自己的牛羊款待客人，却宰了穷人的羊给客人吃。”大卫听后非常愤怒，对拿单说：“我凭永活的耶和华起誓，这人实在该死！他真是没有半点怜悯之心，他必须偿还那穷人四倍！”拿单对大卫说：“那人就是你！以色列的上帝耶和华这样说，‘我膏立你做以色列的王，从扫罗手中救你，将你主人的家业和妻妾交给你，把以色列和犹大的国权赐给你。倘若还不够，我会再加倍地赐给你。你为什么蔑视我的命令，做出我视为可憎的事呢？你借亚扪人的刀杀了赫人乌利亚，把他的妻子据为己有。因为你藐视我，把赫人乌利亚的妻子据为己有，从今以后，杀戮流血的事必永不离开你的家。’耶和华说，‘我要在你家中降下灾祸，我要当着你的面把你的妻妾交给你的近臣，他必在光天化日之下与她们行淫。你在暗地里做这恶事，我要让这样的恶事当着以色列人的面在光天化日之下临到你。’”大卫对拿单说：“我得罪了耶和华。”拿单说：“耶和华已经赦免了你的罪，使你不致死亡。但你做的丑事给了仇敌亵渎耶和华的机会，所以你这个孩子必定死。”拿单说完，便回家去了。耶和华击打乌利亚的妻子给大卫生的孩子，使他患重病。

到了吉甲附近雕石神像的地方，他让抬贡物的人先回去，自己则折回王宫，对王说：“王啊，我有机密禀告。”王就命左右的人回避，众人便都退去了。
