他們配備弓箭，能用左右兩手開弓甩石射箭；他們都屬便雅憫支派，是掃羅的親族。

‘你們要呼求我，要來向我禱告，我就必應允你們。你們要尋找我，只要一心尋求，就必尋見。

尊貴的人，很多人求他的情面；慷慨施贈的，人人都作他的朋友。

‘你呼求我，我就應允你，並且把你所不知道的那些偉大奧祕的事告訴你。’

暗中送的禮物，可以平息怒氣，懷裡藏的賄賂，能平息暴怒。

你使我們受苦和遭難的年日有多久，求你使我們喜樂的日子也有多久。

在患難的日子，你呼求我。我必搭救你，你也必尊敬我。”

但是有些流氓說：“這人怎能拯救我們呢？”就藐視他，也沒有送他禮物。掃羅卻沒有說甚麼。

人的禮物能為他開路，引他到大人物面前。
