But it came about, when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their obstinate ways.

Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals,

and you will come up against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the last days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I show Myself holy through you before their eyes, Gog.”

This is what the Lord says to Cyrus His anointed, Whom I have taken by the right hand, To subdue nations before him And to undo the weapons belt on the waist of kings; To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:“ I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars.I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.For the sake of Jacob My servant, And Israel My chosen one, I have also called you by your name; I have given you a title of honor Though you have not known Me.

Jesus answered him,“ You would have no authority over Me at all, if it had not been given to you from above; for this reason the one who handed Me over to you has the greater sin.”

O king, the Most High God granted sovereignty, greatness, honor, and majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your father.

But indeed, for this reason I have allowed you to remain, in order to show you My power and in order to proclaim My name throughout the earth.
