他們卻忘記耶和華－他們的神，他就把他們付與夏瑣將軍西西拉的手裏，和非利士人並摩押王的手裏。於是這些人常來攻擊他們。

及至士師死後，他們就轉去行惡，比他們列祖更甚，去事奉叩拜別神，總不斷絕頑梗的惡行。

「王啊，這漸長又堅固的樹就是你。你的威勢漸長及天，你的權柄管到地極。

耶和華說：你豈沒有聽見我早先所做的、古時所立的嗎？現在藉你使堅固城荒廢，變為亂堆。

亞蘭王的元帥乃縵在他主人面前為尊為大，因耶和華曾藉他使亞蘭人得勝；他又是大能的勇士，只是長了大痲瘋。

耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作，就把他們交在搶奪他們的人手中，又將他們付與四圍仇敵的手中，甚至他們在仇敵面前再不能站立得住。

斧豈可向用斧砍木的自誇呢？鋸豈可向用鋸的自大呢？好比棍掄起那舉棍的，好比杖舉起那非木的人。

主說：以法蓮哪，我可向你怎樣行呢？猶大啊，我可向你怎樣做呢？因為你們的良善如同早晨的雲霧，又如速散的甘露。

歌革啊，你必上來攻擊我的民以色列，如密雲遮蓋地面。末後的日子，我必帶你來攻擊我的地，到我在外邦人眼前，在你身上顯為聖的時候，好叫他們認識我。

我－耶和華所膏的塞魯士；我攙扶他的右手，使列國降伏在他面前。我也要放鬆列王的腰帶，使城門在他面前敞開，不得關閉。我對他如此說：我必在你前面行，修平崎嶇之地。我必打破銅門，砍斷鐵閂。我要將暗中的寶物和隱密的財寶賜給你，使你知道提名召你的，就是我－耶和華、以色列的神。因我僕人雅各，我所揀選以色列的緣故，我就提名召你；你雖不認識我，我也加給你名號。

耶穌回答說：「若不是從上頭賜給你的，你就毫無權柄辦我。所以，把我交給你的那人罪更重了。」

王啊，至高的神曾將國位、大權、榮耀、威嚴賜與你父尼布甲尼撒；

其實，我叫你存立，是特要向你顯我的大能，並要使我的名傳遍天下。
