“哪有王要跟另一个王打仗时，不先坐下来酌量一下自己的一万人是否敌得过对方的两万人？如果自知不敌，一定趁敌人还远的时候，就差使者去求和。

“趁着你和告你的人还在去法庭的路上，你要赶紧与对方和解。不然，他会把你交给审判官，审判官会把你交给差役关进监牢。

如果你和控告你的人要去对薄公堂，要尽量在路上跟对方和解，以免被拉到审判官面前，审判官派差役把你关进监牢。我告诉你，除非你付清所欠的每一分钱，否则休想出监牢。”
