It happened on the same night that the Lord said to him,“ Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.

For the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons forever.

And Eleazar the son of Aaron died. They buried him in a hill belonging to Phinehas his son, which was given to him in the mountains of Ephraim.

At that time the Lord separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister to Him and to bless in His name, to this day.

Now when Phinehas the priest and the rulers of the congregation, the heads of the divisions of Israel who were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the children of Manasseh spoke, it pleased them.Then Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said to the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the children of Manasseh,“ This day we perceive that the Lord is among us, because you have not committed this treachery against the Lord. Now you have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the Lord.”And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the rulers, returned from the children of Reuben and the children of Gad, from the land of Gilead to the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought back word to them.

Then David inquired of the Lord once again. And the Lord answered him and said,“ Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”And David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines, struck them with a mighty blow, and took away their livestock. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.Now it happened, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, that he went down with an ephod in his hand.And Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah. So Saul said,“ God has delivered him into my hand, for he has shut himself in by entering a town that has gates and bars.”Then Saul called all the people together for war, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.When David knew that Saul plotted evil against him, he said to Abiathar the priest,“ Bring the ephod here.”Then David said,“ O Lord God of Israel, Your servant has certainly heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah to destroy the city for my sake.Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as Your servant has heard? O Lord God of Israel, I pray, tell Your servant.” And the Lord said,“ He will come down.”Then David said,“ Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?” And the Lord said,“ They will deliver you.”

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”

O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

And the Lord said,“ Judah shall go up. Indeed I have delivered the land into his hand.”

Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.And David became angry because of the LORD’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place Perez Uzzah to this day.David was afraid of the Lord that day; and he said,“ How can the ark of the Lord come to me?”So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household.Now it was told King David, saying,“ The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.

And Joshua said,“ Alas, Lord GOD, why have You brought this people over the Jordan at all— to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Oh, that we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan!

Then the children of Israel sent Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest to the children of Reuben, to the children of Gad, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead,

So David inquired of the Lord, saying,“ Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him,“ Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

So David inquired of the Lord, saying,“ Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David,“ Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.”So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said,“ The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.And they left their images there, and David and his men carried them away.Then the Philistines went up once again and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim.Therefore David inquired of the Lord, and He said,“ You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees.And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”

So Saul asked counsel of God,“ Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will You deliver them into the hand of Israel?” But He did not answer him that day.

Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand;and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel.And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:“ Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal.Therefore say,‘ Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace;and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’”

So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.
