And Eleazar the son of Aaron died, and they buried him at Gibeah, the town of Phinehas his son, which had been given him in the hill country of Ephraim.

And he said to Abiathar the priest,“ Bring the ephod here.”Then David said,“ O Lord, the God of Israel, your servant has surely heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city on my account.Will the men of Keilah surrender me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? O Lord, the God of Israel, please tell your servant.” And the Lord said,“ He will come down.”Then David said,“ Will the men of Keilah surrender me and my men into the hand of Saul?” And the Lord said,“ They will surrender you.”

You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.”

I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.And the ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his household.And it was told King David,“ The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with rejoicing.

And he said,“ The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like a breaking flood.” Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim.And the Philistines left their idols there, and David and his men carried them away.And the Philistines came up yet again and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim.And when David inquired of the Lord, he said,“ You shall not go up; go around to their rear, and come against them opposite the balsam trees.And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, for then the Lord has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”

And Saul inquired of God,“ Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will you give them into the hand of Israel?” But he did not answer him that day.

And they carried the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart,
