因为耶和华你的神从你的各支派中把他拣选出来，使他和他的子孙，可以常常奉耶和华的名侍立供祭司的职。

亚伦的儿子以利亚撒也死了；以色列人就把他埋葬在基比亚，就是他儿子非尼哈在以法莲山地所得的产业。

那时，耶和华把利未支派分别出来，叫他们抬耶和华的约柜，侍立在耶和华面前事奉他，并且奉他的名祝福，直到今日。

非尼哈祭司和会众的领袖，以及与祭司同来的以色列的统领，听了流本人、迦得人和玛拿西人说的话，都很满意。以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈对流本人、迦得人和玛拿西人说：“今天我们知道耶和华是在我们中间的，因为你们并没有对耶和华不忠；现在你们已经救了以色列人脱离耶和华的手。”以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈和众领袖离开了流本人和迦得人，从基列地回到迦南地以色列人那里，把这事向他们报告。

于是大卫再求问耶和华。耶和华回答他说：“你只管起来，下到基伊拉去，因为我必把非利士人交在你的手里。”大卫和跟随他的人就到基伊拉去，与非利士人争战，掳走了他们的牲畜，又在他们中间杀戮多人。这样，大卫拯救了基伊拉的居民。亚希米勒的儿子亚比亚他逃到基伊拉去见大卫的时候，是手里带着以弗得下来的。有人告诉扫罗，大卫到了基伊拉，扫罗就说：“神把他交在我的手中了，因为他进了一座有门有闩的城，把自己关闭起来了。”于是扫罗召集众人去争战，要下到基伊拉去，围困大卫和跟随他的人。大卫知道扫罗设计害他，就对亚比亚他祭司说：“把以弗得拿来！”大卫说：“耶和华以色列的神啊！你仆人确实听见了扫罗想要到基伊拉来，为了我的缘故要毁灭这城。基伊拉人会把我交在扫罗的手里吗？扫罗会照着你仆人所听到的下来吗？耶和华以色列的神啊！求你告诉你仆人。”耶和华说：“他必下来。”大卫又说：“基伊拉人会把我和跟随我的人交在扫罗手里吗？”耶和华说：“他们必把你们交出来。”

犹大人和耶路撒冷人哪，这次你们不必出战，只要稳守阵地，站立不动，看耶和华为你们施行的拯救。’你们不要惧怕，也不要惊慌；明天要出去攻击他们，耶和华必和你们同在。”

耶和华啊！我知道人的道路是不由自己的；人行走时，也不能确定自己的脚步。

你要一心仰赖耶和华，不可倚靠自己的聪明；在你一切所行的路上，都要承认他，他必使你的路径平坦正直。

耶和华回答：“犹大要先上去，看哪，我已经把那地交在他手中。”

耶和华的怒气向乌撒发作；神因这错误的举动，就当场击杀他，他就死在神的约柜旁边。大卫因为耶和华击杀了乌撒，就很生气，因此称那地方为毗列斯‧乌撒，直到今日。那一天，大卫惧怕耶和华，说：“耶和华的约柜怎可以到我这里来呢？”于是大卫不肯把耶和华的约柜运进大卫的城到他那里去，却转运到迦特人俄别‧以东的家里去。耶和华的约柜在迦特人俄别‧以东的家停留了三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别‧以东和他的全家。有人告诉大卫王：“耶和华因为神的约柜的缘故，赐福给俄别‧以东的家和一切属他的。”大卫就去，欢欢喜喜把神的约柜从俄别‧以东的家中抬上大卫的城里去。

约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这人民过约旦河，为要把我们交在亚摩利人的手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们宁愿住在约旦河那边倒好。

以色列人派以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈，到基列地去见流本人、迦得人和玛拿西半个支派的人；

大卫求问耶和华说：“我可以追赶这群匪徒吗？我可以追上他们吗？”耶和华回答他：“你可以追赶，你必定追上，也必定把一切救回来。”

大卫求问耶和华说：“我可以上去攻打非利士人吗？你会把他们交在我手里吗？”耶和华对大卫说：“你可以上去，我必把非利士人交在你手里。”于是大卫来到巴力‧毗拉心，在那里击败了非利士人，说：“耶和华在我面前冲破我的敌人，好像洪水冲破堤岸一般。”因此他给那地方起名叫巴力‧毗拉心。非利士人把他们的神像遗弃在那里，大卫和跟随他的人就把它们拿走了。非利士人又上来，散布在利乏音谷。大卫又求问耶和华，耶和华说：“你不要直接上去，要绕到他们后面，从桑林对面攻打他们。你一听到桑林树梢上有脚步的声音，就要赶快行动，因为那时耶和华已经在你前面出去击杀非利士人的军队了。”

扫罗求问神：“我可以下去追赶非利士人吗？你把他们交在以色列人的手里吗？”那天神没有回答他。

亚伦祭司的孙子、以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈看见了，就从会众中起来，手里拿着枪，跟着那以色列人，进入卧室，把他们两人刺透，就是刺透那以色列人和那女子。枪刺进了那女子的肚腹。这样，在以色列人中的瘟疫才止住。那时因瘟疫而死的，共有二万四千人。耶和华对摩西说：“亚伦祭司的孙子、以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈，使我的烈怒稍消，不向以色列人发作，因为他在他们中间以我忌邪的心为心，使我不因我忌邪的心把他们消灭。因此你要说：‘现在我把平安之约赐给他，要给他和他的后裔作为永远担当祭司职分的约，因为他为他的神有忌邪的心，为以色列人赎罪。’”

他们把神的约柜从山冈上亚比拿达的家里抬出来，安放在一辆新车上；亚比拿达的两个儿子，乌撒和亚希约赶着这辆新车，
