The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said,“ Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjamites?” The Lord replied,“ Judah shall go first.”

俱至伯特利、問於上帝、曰、我中誰可先攻便雅憫族。耶和華曰、猶大可先往。

以色列人遂起上伯特利、問於天主曰、我儕中誰當先往攻便雅憫人、主曰、猶大人當先往、

The Israelites went up to Bethel. There they asked God,“ Who should go up first and fight against the people of Benjamin?” The Lord answered,“ The tribe of Judah will go first.”

The people of Israel arose and went up to Bethel and inquired of God,“ Who shall go up first for us to fight against the people of Benjamin?” And the Lord said,“ Judah shall go up first.”

Before the battle the Israelites went to Bethel and asked God,“ Which tribe should go first to attack the people of Benjamin?” The Lord answered,“ Judah is to go first.”

They set out, went to Bethel, and inquired of God. The Israelites asked,“ Who is to go first to fight for us against the Benjaminites?” And the LORD answered,“ Judah will be first.”

Now the sons of Israel set out, went up to Bethel, and inquired of God and said,“ Who shall go up first for us to battle against the sons of Benjamin?” Then the Lord said,“ Judah shall go up first.”

Then the children of Israel arose and went up to the house of God to inquire of God. They said,“ Which of us shall go up first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” The Lord said,“ Judah first!”

And the children of Israel arose, and went up to Beth- el, and asked counsel of God; and they said, Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin? And Jehovah said, Judah shall go up first.

They set out, went to Bethel, and inquired of God. The Israelites asked,“ Who is to go first to fight for us against the Benjaminites?” And the Lord answered,“ Judah will be first.”

And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah[ shall go up] first.

The Israelites went up to Bethel and asked God,“ Who should lead the charge against the Benjaminites?” The LORD said,“ Judah should lead.”

The children of Israel arose, went up to Bethel, and asked counsel of God. They asked,“ Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” Yahweh said,“ Judah first.”

He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”

The Israelites went up and wept before the Lord until evening, and they inquired of the Lord. They said,“ Shall we go up again to fight against the Benjamites, our fellow Israelites?” The Lord answered,“ Go up against them.”

Then all the Israelites, the whole army, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the Lord. They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the Lord.And the Israelites inquired of the Lord.( In those days the ark of the covenant of God was there,

“ Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you.You are a lion’s cub, Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness— who dares to rouse him?The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.

The whole assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The country was brought under their control,

So Moses brought their case before the Lord,

Now, all you Israelites, speak up and tell me what you have decided to do.”

The Israelites sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the Lord.

They continued to use the idol Micah had made, all the time the house of God was in Shiloh.

After the death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord,“ Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Canaanites?”The Lord answered,“ Judah shall go up; I have given the land into their hands.”

He answered,“ We are on our way from Bethlehem in Judah to a remote area in the hill country of Ephraim where I live. I have been to Bethlehem in Judah and now I am going to the house of the Lord. No one has taken me in for the night.

Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.
