Hand over to us those evil men of Gibeah. We’ll put them to death. In that way we’ll get rid of those evil people.” But the people of Benjamin wouldn’t listen to the other Israelites.

Now therefore give up the men, the worthless fellows in Gibeah, that we may put them to death and purge evil from Israel.” But the Benjaminites would not listen to the voice of their brothers, the people of Israel.

Give up those evil men, those troublemakers from Gibeah, so we can execute them and purge Israel of this evil.” But the people of Benjamin would not listen.

While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house,“ Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.”

Anyone who shows contempt for the judge or for the priest who stands ministering there to the Lord your God is to be put to death. You must purge the evil from Israel.

that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying,“ Let us go and worship other gods”( gods you have not known),

But evil men are all to be cast aside like thorns, which are not gathered with the hand.

That is not the case. A man named Sheba son of Bikri, from the hill country of Ephraim, has lifted up his hand against the king, against David. Hand over this one man, and I’ll withdraw from the city.” The woman said to Joab,“ His head will be thrown to you from the wall.”Then the woman went to all the people with her wise advice, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bikri and threw it to Joab. So he sounded the trumpet, and his men dispersed from the city, each returning to his home. And Joab went back to the king in Jerusalem.

Some worthless scoundrels gathered around him and opposed Rehoboam son of Solomon when he was young and indecisive and not strong enough to resist them.

They have sunk deep into corruption, as in the days of Gibeah. God will remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins.

Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying,“ Naboth has cursed both God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death.

The hands of the witnesses must be the first in putting that person to death, and then the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from among you.

Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

If one person sins against another, God may mediate for the offender; but if anyone sins against the Lord, who will intercede for them?” His sons, however, did not listen to their father’s rebuke, for it was the Lord’s will to put them to death.

Whoever remains stiff- necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed— without remedy.

So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.

“ Since the days of Gibeah, you have sinned, Israel, and there you have remained. Will not war again overtake the evildoers in Gibeah?

But all the evil men and troublemakers among David’s followers said,“ Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go.”

While he was still speaking, the king said to him,“ Have we appointed you an adviser to the king? Stop! Why be struck down?” So the prophet stopped but said,“ I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”

Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.

you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death— the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

Amaziah, however, would not listen, for God so worked that he might deliver them into the hands of Jehoash, because they sought the gods of Edom.

she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

If someone is caught kidnapping a fellow Israelite and treating or selling them as a slave, the kidnapper must die. You must purge the evil from among you.
