Then all Israel from Dan to Beersheba and from the land of Gilead came together as one and assembled before the Lord in Mizpah.

Then all the Israelites came out. They came from the whole land between Dan and Beersheba. They also came from the land of Gilead. All of them gathered together in front of the Lord at Mizpah.

Then all the people of Israel came out, from Dan to Beersheba, including the land of Gilead, and the congregation assembled as one man to the Lord at Mizpah.

Then all the Israelites were united as one man, from Dan in the north to Beersheba in the south, including those from across the Jordan in the land of Gilead. The entire community assembled in the presence of the Lord at Mizpah.

All the Israelites from Dan to Beer-sheba and from the land of Gilead came out, and the community assembled as one body before the LORD at Mizpah.

大卫对统领军队的约押说：“你去走遍以色列各支派，从但到别示巴，统计以色列和犹大的人口，让我知道国民的数目。”

全体民众万众一心，聚集在水门前的广场上。他们请律法教师以斯拉带来耶和华借摩西颁给以色列人的律法书。

撒母耳又说：“你们全体以色列人到米斯巴来，我会为你们向耶和华祈求。”他们就在那里聚集，打水倒在耶和华面前，并在当天禁食。他们说：“我们得罪了耶和华。”于是，撒母耳在米斯巴做以色列人的士师。

于是，他们下令通告全以色列，从别示巴直到但，让人们到耶路撒冷向以色列的上帝耶和华守逾越节，因为人们不常照律例守这节期。

以下是约瑟的长子玛拿西支派分到的土地：玛拿西的长子、基列的父亲玛吉是个战士，因此分到了基列和巴珊两地。

立他为王统治基列、亚书利、耶斯列、以法莲、便雅悯和以色列其余的地方。

以色列全军来到伯特利，坐在耶和华面前哀哭，那天他们一直禁食到晚上，又在耶和华面前献上燔祭和平安祭。

王的这番话打动了所有犹大人的心，他们派人去请王和王的臣仆回来。

这座城原来叫拉亿，他们用祖先以色列的儿子但的名字为该城重新命名。

到了七月，以色列人已安居各城，他们万众一心地聚集在耶路撒冷。

以色列人到伯特利去求问上帝，说：“我们当中哪个支派应当先去攻打便雅悯人呢？”耶和华说：“犹大支派。”

当时，亚扪人整装备战，在基列安营；以色列人也集合起来，在米斯巴安营。

大卫对约押和其他军中的首领说：“你们要走遍以色列，从别示巴一直到但，统计以色列的人口，然后回来禀告我，我好知道他们的数目。”

于是，以色列人团结一致，一起去攻打那城。

犹大众将领和他们的下属听到巴比伦王委任基大利治理犹大的消息后，便都到米斯巴见基大利。他们是尼探雅的儿子以实玛利、加利亚的儿子约哈难、尼陀法人单户篾的儿子西莱雅、玛迦人雅撒尼亚。

众人起来异口同声地说：“我们谁也不回帐篷，谁也不回家。

以色列各支派的首领都参加了这次上帝子民的聚会，当时有四十万持刀的步兵。

吕便和迦得的子孙有许多牲畜，他们见雅谢和基列适于放牧，

牵来两头牛，把它们切成碎块，然后派使者把碎块分发到以色列全境，并且宣布：“谁拒绝跟随扫罗和撒母耳出战，他的牛就要被砍成这样。”上帝使百姓充满恐惧，他们都同心合意地响应。扫罗在比色统计以色列人，共有三十万，从犹大来的有三万。

“在你们的上帝耶和华将要赐给你们居住的各城中，如果你们听说某城里有恶人引诱城中的居民偏离正路，唆使他们去供奉你们不认识的神明，

米斯巴、基非拉、摩撒、

摩西就把基列赐给玛拿西的儿子玛吉，作他的居所。
