Therefore I also said,‘ I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be thorns in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.’”

今我有言曰、必不驅逐斯民於爾前、被為荊棘於爾脇、或作為攻爾之敵彼之諸神、必陷爾於網羅、

And I have also said,‘ I will not drive them out before you; they will become traps for you, and their gods will become snares to you.’”

I have said something else. I said,‘ I will not drive out those people to make room for you. They and their gods will become traps for you.’ ”

So now I say, I will not drive them out before you, but they shall become thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.”

So now I declare that I will no longer drive out the people living in your land. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a constant temptation to you.”

Therefore, I now say: I will not drive out these people before you. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a trap for you.”

Therefore I also said,‘ I will not drive them out from you; but they will become like thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’ ”

Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

Therefore, I now say: I will not drive out these people before you. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a trap for you.”

At that time I also warned you,‘ If you disobey, I will not drive out the Canaanites before you. They will ensnare you and their gods will lure you away.’”

know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations from before you. But they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which the Lord your God has given you.

But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell.

Also you shall destroy all the peoples whom the Lord your God delivers over to you; your eye shall have no pity on them; nor shall you serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.

They served their idols, Which became a snare to them.

And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons; and they served their gods.

They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”

I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died,

Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be a snare in your midst.

But King Solomon loved many foreign women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites—from the nations of whom the Lord had said to the children of Israel,“ You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David.For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord, as did his father David.Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the hill that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon.
