I will use them to test Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the Lord and walk in it as their ancestors did.”

你不可听从那先知或作梦的人的话；因为耶和华你们的神试验你们，要知道你们是不是一心一意爱耶和华你们的神。

用锅炼银，用炉炼金；唯有耶和华锻炼人心。

可是，他来的日子，谁能当得起呢？他显现的时候，谁能站立得住呢？因为他像炼金之人的火，又像漂布之人的碱。他必坐着，像熬炼和洁净银子的人；他必洁净利未人，炼净他们像炼净金银一样。这样，他们就会凭公义献礼物给耶和华。

这些国的人是耶和华留下的，为要藉着他们来试验以色列人，就是所有没有经验过迦南任何战争的人；好使以色列人的后代，那些以前没有经验过这些战争的人，知道学习争战。他留下的就是非利士人的五个首领，和所有迦南人、西顿人，以及住在黎巴嫩山上的希未人，从巴力．黑门山直到哈马口。他们留在那里，为要藉着他们试验以色列人，要知道他们是否听从耶和华藉摩西吩咐他们列祖的诫命。

唯有巴比伦王的使者奉派来见希西家，询问犹大地发生的奇事的时候，神就离开了他，为要试验他，好知道他心中的一切。

神啊！你试炼了我们，熬炼了我们，如同熬炼银子一般。

可是他知道我所行的道路，他试炼我以后，我必像精金出现。
