Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped them. They quickly turned from the ways of their ancestors, who had been obedient to the Lord’s commands.

But the people wouldn’t listen to their leaders. They weren’t faithful to the Lord. They served other gods and worshiped them. They didn’t obey the Lord’ s commands as their people before them had done. They quickly turned away from the path their people had taken.

Yet they did not listen to their judges, for they whored after other gods and bowed down to them. They soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers had walked, who had obeyed the commandments of the Lord, and they did not do so.

Yet Israel did not listen to the judges but prostituted themselves by worshiping other gods. How quickly they turned away from the path of their ancestors, who had walked in obedience to the Lord’s commands.

我感到驚奇，你們這麼輕易地離棄了藉著基督的恩典召喚你們的那一位，轉向了別的福音。

拿著七碗的七位天使中，有一位過來對我講話，說：「來，我要給你看那坐在眾水之上的大淫婦所要受的審判。地上的眾君王曾與她行淫亂，住在地上的人也喝醉了她淫亂的酒。」於是我在靈裡被天使帶到曠野。隨後，我看見一個女人騎在一隻深紅色的獸上，這獸有七個頭，十隻角，遍體布滿了褻瀆的名號。那女人身穿紫色和深紅色的衣服，以金子、寶石和珍珠為裝飾。她手裡拿著金杯，杯中盛滿了可憎之物和她淫亂的汙穢。在她的額上寫著一個奧祕的名號：「大巴比倫，地上的淫婦們和可憎之物的母親。」

全體民眾對撒母耳說：「求你為僕人們向耶和華你的神禱告，免得我們死亡。因為在我們的一切罪惡上，我們又增添了一件惡事，為自己要求一個王。」

看哪，遠離你的都將滅亡；所有背棄你如同犯姦淫的，你都要除盡！

對他說：「看哪，你老了，你的兒子們又不行你的道，所以請你為我們立一個王來治理我們，像其他國家那樣。」他們說「請為我們立一個王來治理我們」，這話讓撒母耳很愁煩，他就向耶和華禱告。耶和華對撒母耳說：「你就聽從民眾對你說的一切話。其實他們不是厭棄你，而是厭棄我作他們的王。自從我帶他們出埃及的那天起直到今日，他們離棄我，服事別的神明——他們怎樣對我做這一切，現在也怎樣對你做。

今日不是收割小麥的時候嗎？我向耶和華呼求，他就會降下雷雨。這樣你們就會知道並看見你們為自己要求一個王，在耶和華眼中是行了極大的惡事！」

他多次解救他們，他們卻圖謀悖逆，在自己的罪孽中墮落。

那時他們因自己所做的被玷汙，在自己的行為上犯了姦淫。

可是當你們看到亞捫人的王納哈什來攻擊你們，就對我說：『不，我們必須要一個王統治我們。』其實耶和華你們的神就是你們的王。
