So they sat down, and did eat and drink, both of them together: and the damsel’s father said unto the man, Be pleased, I pray thee, to tarry all night, and let thy heart be merry.

利未人、與妾及僕、起欲歸、妾之父謂之曰、今將薄暮、日已昃矣、請留宿此、安爾心、明晨夙興、歸幕可也。

七日王飲酣、諭米戶曼、必士大、哈破拿、辟大、亞八大、西達、甲迦、御前宦豎七人、

亞庇該至拿八所、見其設盛饌、可儗侯王、拿八醉甚、中心喜悅、是夕事無鉅細、俱不以告。

蓋二先知在日、民甚苦之、所以欣喜歡忭、互相投贈也、

遂攜入室、以蒭蕘給驢、使人濯足、供其飲食。中心歡樂時、邑之匪類、環室叩門、謂家主曰、有丁男入爾室者、出之以遂我所欲。

乃自謂曰、我有多物、積為歷年之用、此心可安然飲食喜樂也、

人自謂平康安固、而禍突至、猶妊婦劬勞、其人不得免、

酒醴可以悅心、膏沐可以頮面、餅餌可以養生兮。

當時、地大震、城圮十分之一、死者七千人、餘盡驚駭、讚美天上上帝、

往於田間、斂取葡萄、醡之、入其上帝之殿、頌美飲食、而詛亞庇米力。
