They turned aside there to enter and spend the night in Gibeah. When they entered, they sat down in the public square of the city, for no one took them into his house to spend the night.

There they stopped to spend the night. They went and sat in the city square, but no one took them in for the night.

And he said to him,“ We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, for I am from there, and I went to Bethlehem in Judah. But I am now going to my house, and no one will take me into his house.

Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

And he said,“ Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” They said,“ No, but we shall spend the night in the public square.”Yet he strongly urged them, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

When he raised his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed down to the ground,and said,“ My Lord, if now I have found favor in Your sight, please do not pass Your servant by.Please let a little water be brought and wash your feet, and make yourselves comfortable under the tree;and I will bring a piece of bread, so that you may refresh yourselves; after that you may go on, since you have visited your servant.” And they said,“ So do as you have said.”So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah, and said,“ Quickly, prepare three measures of fine flour, knead it, and make bread cakes.”Abraham also ran to the herd, and took a tender and choice calf and gave it to the servant, and he hurried to prepare it.He took curds and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he was standing by them under the tree as they ate.
