But, unwilling to stay another night, the man left and went toward Jebus( that is, Jerusalem), with his two saddled donkeys and his concubine.

But the man didn’t want to stay another night. So he left. He went toward Jebus. Jebus is also called Jerusalem. The Levite had his two donkeys and his concubine with him. The donkeys had saddles on them.

From there the border ascended Ben Hinnom Valley to the southern Jebusite slope( that is, Jerusalem) and ascended to the top of the hill that faces Hinnom Valley on the west, at the northern end of Rephaim Valley.

But the descendants of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem. So the Jebusites still live in Jerusalem among the descendants of Judah today.

The men of Judah fought against Jerusalem, captured it, put it to the sword, and set the city on fire.

David and all Israel marched to Jerusalem( that is, Jebus); the Jebusites who inhabited the land were there.The inhabitants of Jebus said to David,“ You will never get in here.” Yet David did capture the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David.

The king and his men marched to Jerusalem against the Jebusites who inhabited the land. The Jebusites had said to David,“ You will never get in here. Even the blind and lame can repel you” thinking,“ David can’t get in here.”

Zela, Haeleph, Jebus( that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath— fourteen cities, with their settlements. This was the inheritance for Benjamin’s descendants by their clans.
