The five men who had spied out the land went inside and took the idol, the ephod and the household gods while the priest and the six hundred armed men stood at the entrance of the gate.

The five men who had looked over the land went inside. They took the statue covered with silver. They also took the family gods and the linen apron. During that time, the priest stood at the entrance of the gate. The 600 men stood there with him. They were prepared for battle.

And the five men who had gone to scout out the land went up and entered and took the carved image, the ephod, the household gods, and the metal image, while the priest stood by the entrance of the gate with the 600 men armed with weapons of war.

the five scouts entered the shrine and removed the carved image, the sacred ephod, the household idols, and the cast idol. Meanwhile, the priest was standing at the gate with the 600 armed warriors.

And the five men that went to spy out the land went up, and came in thither, and took the graven image, and the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image: and the priest stood by the entrance of the gate with the six hundred men girt with weapons of war.

And the five men that went to spy out the land went up,[ and] came in thither,[ and] took the graven image, and the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image: and the priest stood in the entering of the gate with the six hundred men[ that were] appointed with weapons of war.

The five men who had gone to spy out the land broke in and stole the carved image, the ephod, the personal idols, and the metal image, while the priest was standing at the entrance to the gate with the six hundred fully armed men.

從前去偵探拉億地的那五個人應時對他們的族弟兄說：『這些住宅裏有神諭像、家神像、雕像、鑄像、你們知道麼？現在你們要考慮考慮應當怎樣行。』

米迦把那銀子還給他母親；他母親取了二百錠銀子，交給銀匠去製造一座雕像、一座鑄像；那像就在米迦家裏。米迦這人有一間神堂；他又製造了神諭像和家神像，給他的一個兒子授與聖職做他的祭司。

於是但人從瑣拉和以實陶打發他們家族中全體範圍內五個人、都是有力氣的人去偵探窺察那地，對他們說：『你們去窺察那地』；他們到了以法蓮山地，來到米迦的住宅，便在那裏住宿。

當時拉班剪羊毛去了；拉結偷了他父親的家神像。

非利士人把祭司和占卜者叫了來，說：『我們要怎樣處置永恆主的櫃呢？請讓我們知道須要用甚麼法子將櫃送回原處去。』他們說：『若要將以色列上帝的櫃送走，你們不可空空送去，總要將賠罪禮物還給他，然後能得醫好，也能知道他的手為甚麼沒有離開你們。』非利士人說：『我們要還給他的應當是甚麼樣的賠罪禮物呢？』他們說：『要照非利士人霸主的數目、用五個金鼠疫疱、五個金老鼠，因為你們眾人和你們的霸主們都遭遇了一樣的疫災。所以要製造你們的鼠疫疱的像、和那毁壞你們的地的老鼠的像；並要將榮耀歸與以色列的上帝，或者他的手會向你們跟你們的神和土地放輕些。你們的心為甚麼固執、像埃及人和法老那樣固執呢？上帝作弄了埃及人，埃及人不是還要把以色列人放走麼？現在你們要把一輛新車豫備下來，將兩隻未曾負軛正在餵奶的母牛套在車上，使牛仔離開母牛回家去。你們要把永恆主的櫃放在車上，將所要還給他做賠罪禮物的金器裝在匣子裏，放在櫃旁、將櫃打發走。然後看看；它如果按到它境界的路向上伯示麥去，那就是永恆主將這大災禍降在我們身上的；若不然，我們便可以知道不是他的手在擊打我們；那是我們偶然遇見的。』

又拿他們所造的牛犢，用火去燒，磨得很細，撒在水面上，叫以色列人喝。

我必從你中間剪除你的雕像和崇拜柱子，你就不再敬拜你自己的手所造的；

上帝的櫃被拿去；以利的兩個兒子何弗尼非尼哈也死了。

他們將神像抬起，扛在肩頭上，安置在定處，它就站在那裏，總不離開其位置；就使有人向它哀叫，它也不能應，不能救人脫離患難。

彼勒屈身仆倒，尼波彎腰跌落；巴比倫人的偶像馱在獸和牲口上，他們抬的偶像如今成了重載、馱在疲乏的牲口上。他們一概彎腰跌落，屈身仆倒，不能保全重馱，自己反倒被擄而去。

約阿施對站着攻擊他的眾人說：『你們是為巴力辯護麼？還是要救他呢？誰為他辯護，誰就該趁早被處死；巴力如果是神，若有人拆毁他的祭壇，就讓他為自己辯護吧。』

將他們的神像都扔在火裏；因為他們並不是神，乃是人手造的，木頭石頭的；故此他們才除滅他們。永恆主我們的上帝啊，現在求你拯救我們脫離亞述王的手，使地上萬國都知道惟獨你、永恆主、才是上帝。』
