Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred[ shekels] of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt[ it] in the fire, and ground[ it] to powder, and strawed[ it] upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink[ of it].

Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.

And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea,[ one] shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.

And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst[ it is yet] morning: if he[ be] a god, let him plead for himself, because[ one] hath cast down his altar.

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they[ were] no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou[ art] the LORD God,[ even] thou only.
