When he returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, she said,“ I solemnly consecrate my silver to the Lord for my son to make an image overlaid with silver. I will give it back to you.”

He gave the 28 pounds of silver back to his mother. She said to him,“ I’m making a promise to set apart my silver to the Lord. My son, I want you to use it to cover a statue of a god made out of wood or stone. That’s why I’ll give the silver back to you.”

And he restored the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother. And his mother said,“ I dedicate the silver to the Lord from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a metal image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.”

He returned the money to her, and she said,“ I now dedicate these silver coins to the Lord. In honor of my son, I will have an image carved and an idol cast.”

He returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I personally consecrate the silver to the LORD for my son’s benefit to make a carved image and a silver idol. I will give it back to you.”

He then returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I wholly consecrate the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son to make a carved image and a cast metal image; so now I will return them to you.”

So when he had returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said,“ I had wholly dedicated the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son, to make a carved image and a molded image; now therefore, I will return it to you.”

And he restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I verily dedicate the silver unto Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

He returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I personally consecrate the silver to the Lord for my son’s benefit to make a carved image overlaid with silver.”

And when he had restored the eleven hundred[ shekels] of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

When he gave back to his mother the eleven hundred pieces of silver, his mother said,“ I solemnly dedicate this silver to the LORD. It will be for my son’s benefit. We will use it to make a carved image and a metal image.”

He restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother, then his mother said,“ I most certainly dedicate the silver to Yahweh from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a molten image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.”

『不可為你自己造雕像，也不可造上天、下地、及地底下水中任何物件的形像。

你們不可偏向偶相，也不可為自己造鑄像的神；我永恆主是你們的上帝。

銀的神像金的神像、你們都不可作、來和我相配，千萬不可給自己作呀。

因為萬族之民的規例都是虛空：因為偶像不過是一棵樹、人從樹林中砍下來，匠人的手用斧子製成的作品。人用金銀妝飾它，用釘子和錘子釘穩它，使它不動搖。它們好像瓜田裏的稻草人，不能說話，必須被扛着，因為不能跨步走。你們不要怕它們；它們不能降禍，也無力降福。』

拜偶像的人一概是畜類、是愚頑，是虛無神所指教的：那神不過是木頭，

也要拆毁他們的祭壇，打碎他們的崇拜柱子；他們的亞舍拉神木、你們要用火去燒，他們的神的雕像你們要砍下來，要從那地方除滅他的名。

米迦說：『現在我知道永恆主必使我得福了，因為我有個「利未人」做我的祭司。

雕刻的偶像、塑造它的將它刻成、有甚麼益處？鑄造的偶像、虛假的導師、塑造它的將它塑成、造座啞巴神像去倚靠它、有甚麼益處？那對木偶說「醒起！」、對啞巴石像說「奮起！」的有禍啊！嘿，這能做導師！看哪，這只是包裹金銀的，其中毫無氣息！

『不可為自己造鑄像的神。

你們將誰來跟上帝相比呢？用甚麼形相來跟上帝並列呢？鑄像麼，是匠人鑄造，銀匠用金子錘包它，煉鑄銀模來。那豫備鑄造偶像的揀選不能朽壞的樹木，尋找巧匠，立起不能搖動的鑄像來。你們不曾知道，不曾聽見麼？從起初沒有人告訴過你們麼？大地的根基立了以來、你們沒有明白過麼？是上帝坐在大地的圓穹之上，地上的居民就像蚱蜢；他搭開諸天如帷幕，鋪張天空如可住的帳棚。他使人君歸於無有，使地上的審判官成為虛空。他們剛栽上，剛種上，其樹𣎴子剛札根在地裏，他一吹，他們便枯乾，旋風就把他們帶走、像碎稭一樣。至聖者說：你們將誰來跟我相比，使他跟我一樣呢？

『嘿，宰牛的、殺人的、宰獻小羊的、打折狗脖子的、獻上素祭的、獻上豬血的、燒乳香為表樣的、祝頌「無有」之神的：嘿，這些人呢、選擇他們自己的路，他們心裏喜悅他們那些可憎惡的事。

製造雕像的盡都虛空；他們所喜愛的都沒有用處；他們的見證人毫無所見，毫無所知，以致自己失望。誰製造神像，鑄造無用的雕像呢？看哪，所有依附着它、的人都必失望，製作它、的匠人極為狼狽；他們儘管集合攏來，儘管挺身而立，都必覺得恐懼、一概失望。鐵匠雕造了偶像，在火炭中加工，用鎚子製造它、用他大力的膀臂給它加工，他竟饑餓而沒有力量，他沒有喝水而困倦疲乏。木匠拉線，用筆畫出樣子，用鉋子鉋平它，用彎尺畫出樣子，作成人的模形，有人類的俊美，好住在廟中。他自己砍伐香柏樹，又是選取冬青檞或橡樹，讓它在樹林中茁壯起來，或是栽種樅樹，讓雨水使它長大。這樹人可用作燃料，可以拿些來烤火取暖，也可以燒着烤餅，竟可以造神像去敬拜，作雕像去叩拜！他把木頭的一半燒在火中，在另一半上去燒肉喫；他烤所烤的肉，喫得飽飫，並且烤火取暖，說：『啊哈，我暖和了，我見燄火了。』其剩下的他竟作了一座神像，就是雕像，而向它叩拜，向它敬拜，禱告說：『援救我吧，因為你是我的神！』他們不知道，也不明白，因為他們的眼被塗抹了，以致不能看見，他們的心蒙蔽了，以致不能了解。沒有一個人心裏回悟過來，也沒有一個有知識有聰明能夠說：「木頭的一半我已經燒在火中，我也曾在其炭火上烤過餅，烤過肉喫；難道其剩下的我還要作一座可厭惡之像！我還要向樹木頭叩拜！」嘿，以爐灰為食的人！被愚弄的心使他偏行了；他不能援救自己，也不能說：『莫非我右手中有虛假？』

他們對他說：『請你求問上帝，使我們知道我們所行的路順利不順利。』

外國人的偶像是銀的或金的，是人的手所作的。他們有口、卻不能說話；有眼、卻不能看；有耳、卻不能聽；有鼻、卻不能聞；有手、卻不能摸；有腳、卻不能走路；也不能用喉嚨出聲。造它們的、正和它們一樣；凡倚靠它們的、正如它們一般。

人必將你們革出會堂；不但如此，時候必到，凡殺你們的、且要以為是獻事奉與上帝呢！
