So the governors of the Philistines came up to her and said to her,“ Entice him, and see where his great strength lies and how we can overpower him so that we may bind him to humble him. Then we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.”

And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her,“ Entice him, and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”

亞吉把大衛叫來，對他說：“我指著永活的耶和華說，你是正直的人，你與我在軍中出入，我感到很滿意，因為自從你到我這裡來的那一天，直到今日，我未曾在你身上找到甚麼過失；只是各首領不喜歡你。

但那些想要發財的人，就落在試探中和陷阱裡；又落在許多無知而有害的私慾裡，使人沉淪在敗壞和滅亡中；因為貪財是萬惡之根。有人貪愛錢財，就被引誘離開真道，用許多痛苦把自己刺透了。

於是，以掃在那一天回西珥去了。

因為我必使你大得尊榮；你向我說甚麼，我都照辦；只求你替我咒詛這民。’”巴蘭回答巴勒的臣僕說：“巴勒就算把他滿屋的金銀給我，但我不論作大事小事，也不能越過耶和華我神的命令。

他留下的就是非利士人的五個首領，和所有迦南人、西頓人，以及住在黎巴嫩山上的希未人，從巴力．黑門山直到哈馬口。

因為淫婦的嘴唇滴下蜂蜜，她的口比油更滑；至終卻苦似苦菫，快如兩刃的劍。她的腳走下死地，她的腳步踏向陰間。她不理會生命之路，她的路徑變遷無定，自己也不知道。孩子們，現在要聽從我，不可離棄我口中的話。你的道路要遠離她，不可走近她的家門；免得你的精力給了別人，你的年日交給了殘忍的人；免得外人飽享你的財物，你勞碌得來的歸入別人的家。在你生命終結，你的肉體和身軀衰殘的時候，你就悲歎，

他對自己的母親說：“你那十二公斤銀子被人拿去了，關於這事你曾說了咒詛的話，我也親自聽見了。看哪！那些銀子在我這裡，是我拿去了。”他母親說：“願我兒蒙耶和華賜福。”

淫婦用許多花言巧語引誘他，用諂媚的嘴唇勾引他。少年人就立刻跟隨她，好像牛走向屠房，又像愚妄人帶著鎖鍊去受刑罰，直到箭矢射透他的肝；他仿佛飛鳥投入網羅，並不知道會喪失性命。孩子們，現在你們要聽從我，留心聽我口中的話。你的心不可偏向淫婦的道路，也不要迷戀她的路徑。因為她使許多人倒斃，被她殺害的實在無數。她的家是通往陰間的路，是下到死亡的宮房。

“如果我把他交給你們，你們願意給我甚麼呢？”他們就給了他三十塊銀子。

他們雙手善於作惡，官長和審判官都要求報酬；達官貴人說出心裡的慾望；他們歪曲了一切。

你們不知道你們的身體就是基督的肢體嗎？這樣，我們可以把基督的肢體當作娼妓的肢體嗎？當然不可以！你們不知道那跟娼妓苟合的，就是與她成為一體了嗎？因為經上說：“二人要成為一體。”但那與主聯合的，就是與他成為一靈了。你們要逃避淫亂的事。人所犯的，無論是甚麼罪，都是在身體以外，唯有行淫亂的，是觸犯自己的身體。

能保護你遠離邪惡的女人，遠離妓女諂媚的舌頭。你心裡不要貪戀她的美色，也不要給她的媚眼勾引。因為妓女使人只剩一塊餅，通姦的婦人（“通姦的婦人”直譯是“人的妻子”）獵取人寶貴的生命。

智慧要救你脫離淫婦，脫離說諂媚話的妓女。她離棄年輕時的配偶，忘記了神的約；她的家陷入死地，她的路徑下落陰間。凡是進到她那裡去的，都不能轉回，必得不著生路。
