Half drunk by now, the people demanded,“ Bring out Samson so he can amuse us!” So he was brought from the prison to amuse them, and they had him stand between the pillars supporting the roof.

So both of them sat down and ate and drank together; and the girl’s father said to the man,“ Please be so kind as to spend the night, and let your heart be cheerful.”

Then Absalom commanded his servants, saying,“ See now, when Amnon’s heart is cheerful with wine, and I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon,’ then put him to death. Do not fear; have I not commanded you myself? Be courageous and be valiant.”

Instead, there is joy and jubilation, Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, Eating of meat and drinking of wine:“ Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”

But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered themselves together; The afflicted people whom I did not know gathered together against me, They slandered me without ceasing.Like godless jesters at a feast, They gnashed at me with their teeth.

Do not rejoice over me, enemy of mine. If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying,“ He saved others; He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.He has trusted in God; let God rescue Him now, if He takes pleasure in Him; for He said,‘ I am the Son of God.’ ”And the rebels who had been crucified with Him were also insulting Him in the same way.

Those who sit in the gate talk about me, And songs of mockery by those habitually drunk are about me.

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,Otherwise, the Lord will see and be displeased, And turn His anger away from him.

and others experienced mocking and flogging, and further, chains and imprisonment.
