Now the rulers of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to celebrate, saying,“ Our god has delivered Samson, our enemy, into our hands.”

The rulers of the Philistines gathered together. They were going to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon. They were going to celebrate. They said,“ Our god has handed our enemy Samson over to us.”

Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to rejoice, and they said,“ Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.”

The Philistine rulers held a great festival, offering sacrifices and praising their god, Dagon. They said,“ Our god has given us victory over our enemy Samson!”

Now the Philistine leaders gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon. They rejoiced and said: Our god has handed over our enemy Samson to us.

Now the governors of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to celebrate, for they said,“ Our god has handed Samson our enemy over to us.”

Now the lords of the Philistines gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice. And they said:“ Our god has delivered into our hands Samson our enemy!”

非利士人將神的約櫃擡進大袞廟，放在大袞的旁邊。次日清早，亞實突人起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，就把大袞仍立在原處。又次日清早起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，並且大袞的頭和兩手都在門檻上折斷，只剩下大袞的殘體。（因此，大袞的祭司和一切進亞實突、大袞廟的人都不踏大袞廟的門檻，直到今日。）

將不能朽壞之神的榮耀變為偶像，彷彿必朽壞的人和飛禽、走獸、昆蟲的樣式。所以，神任憑他們逞着心裏的情慾行污穢的事，以致彼此玷辱自己的身體。他們將神的真實變為虛謊，去敬拜事奉受造之物，不敬奉那造物的主－主乃是可稱頌的，直到永遠。阿們！

現在這些人以我為歌曲，以我為笑談。他們厭惡我，躲在旁邊站着，不住地吐唾沫在我臉上。

又將掃羅的軍裝放在他們神的廟裏，將他的首級釘在大袞廟中。

你仇敵跌倒，你不要歡喜；他傾倒，你心不要快樂；

我在患難中，他們卻歡喜，大家聚集。我所不認識的那些下流人聚集攻擊我；他們不住地把我撕裂。他們如同席上好嬉笑的狂妄人向我咬牙。

我乃是說，外邦人所獻的祭是祭鬼，不是祭神。我不願意你們與鬼相交。

萬民各奉己神的名而行；我們卻永永遠遠奉耶和華－我們神的名而行。

論到吃祭偶像之物，我們知道偶像在世上算不得甚麼，也知道神只有一位，再沒有別的神。雖有稱為神的，或在天，或在地，就如那許多的神，許多的主；

豈有一國換了他的神嗎？其實這不是神！但我的百姓將他們的榮耀換了那無益的神。
