Now the rulers of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to celebrate, saying,“ Our god has delivered Samson, our enemy, into our hands.”

The rulers of the Philistines gathered together. They were going to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon. They were going to celebrate. They said,“ Our god has handed our enemy Samson over to us.”

Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to rejoice, and they said,“ Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.”

The Philistine rulers held a great festival, offering sacrifices and praising their god, Dagon. They said,“ Our god has given us victory over our enemy Samson!”

Now the Philistine leaders gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon. They rejoiced and said: Our god has handed over our enemy Samson to us.

Now the governors of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to celebrate, for they said,“ Our god has handed Samson our enemy over to us.”

非利士人搶去神的約櫃，把它抬進大袞廟，放在大袞神像的旁邊。第二天清早，亞實突人起來，看見大袞神像仆倒在地，俯伏在耶和華的約櫃面前。他們就把大袞神像豎立起來，放回原處。再次日早晨，他們起來的時候，看見大袞神像又仆倒在地，俯伏在耶和華的約櫃面前，大袞的頭和雙手也都在門檻上折斷了，只剩下大袞的身體。因此大袞的祭司和所有進亞實突大袞廟的人，都不踏大袞廟的門檻，直到現在。

他們用必朽壞的人、飛禽、走獸和昆蟲的形象，取代了永不朽壞的神的榮耀。因此，神就任憑他們順著心中的私慾去作污穢的事，以致羞辱自己的身體。他們用虛謊取代了神的真理，敬拜事奉受造之物，卻不敬拜事奉造物的主。他是永遠可稱頌的，阿們。

現在他們以我為歌曲，我竟成了他們的笑柄。他們厭惡我，遠遠地離開我，又不住吐唾沫在我臉上，

他們把掃羅的兵器放在他們的神廟裡，把他的頭掛在大袞廟中。

你的仇敵跌倒的時候，你不要歡喜；他絆倒的時候，你心裡不可歡樂。

但我跌倒的時候，他們竟聚集一起歡慶；我素不相識的聚集一起攻擊我，他們不住地欺凌我。他們以最粗鄙的話譏笑我（按照《馬索拉文本》，本句應作“他們好像筵席上狂妄的譏笑者”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯），向我咬牙切齒。

我是說，教外人所祭的是鬼，不是獻給神；我卻不願意你們與鬼來往。

雖然，萬民各奉自己神的名行事，我們卻要永遠奉耶和華我們神的名而行。”

關於吃祭過偶像的食物，我們知道世上的偶像算不得甚麼，也知道神只有一位，沒有別的神。雖然有被稱為神的，無論在天上或在地上（就如有許多的“神”許多的“主”），

有哪一國把自己的神換掉呢？其實那些並不是神。我的子民竟把他們的榮耀，換了無益的偶像。
