非利士人的领袖上到妇人那里去，对她说：“请你引诱他，看看他因什么缘故有这样大的力气，我们用什么方法才能胜过他，把他捆绑，好制伏他；我们每人就给你十二公斤银子。”

“你们各人要提防自己的邻舍，不要信靠兄弟；因为每一个兄弟都在欺骗人，每一个邻舍都搬弄是非。他们各人都欺骗自己的邻舍，不说诚实话。他们训练自己的舌头说谎话，竭力作孽，以致他们不能回转（按照《马索拉文本》，本句意思难确定；现参照《七十士译本》翻译）。欺凌加上欺凌，诡诈加上诡诈（按照《马索拉文本》，“欺凌加上欺凌，诡诈加上诡诈”作“你的住所在诡诈中；在诡诈里”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译），他们不肯认识我。”这是耶和华的宣告。

因为你们确实知道，无论是淫乱的、污秽的或贪心的（贪心就是拜偶像），都得不到在基督和神的国里的基业。

“如果我把他交给你们，你们愿意给我什么呢？”他们就给了他三十块银子。

因为贪财是万恶之根。有人贪爱钱财，就被引诱离开真道，用许多痛苦把自己刺透了。

搬弄是非的人的言语，如同美食，深入人的脏腑。

摩押的长老和米甸的长老，手里带着占卜的礼金去了；他们到了巴兰那里，把巴勒的话告诉他。

卑贱的人真是虚空，高贵的人也是虚假，放在天平上就必升起；他们加在一起比空气还轻。
