The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done.

大衛曰、爾僕為父牧羊、有獅或熊至羣中、攫羔而去、我出追而擊之、援羔於其口、彼起而攻我、我執其鬣、擊而殺之、爾僕殺獅與熊、此未受割之非利士人、侮維生上帝之軍、亦必如斯獸之一焉、又曰、耶和華既援我於獅之爪、熊之掌、亦必援我於此非利士人之手、掃羅曰、往哉、耶和華必與爾偕、

耶和華之神臨耶弗他、遂巡基列瑪拿西地、至基列之米斯巴、自此而往、至亞捫族、

彼不呼不喧、其聲不聞於衢、

我心溫柔謙遜、宜負我軛而學我、則爾心獲安、

遂擊非利士人、大行殺戮、尸相枕籍、後往以坦巖穴居焉、○

今日耶和華必付爾於我手、我必擊爾、斬爾首級、以非利士軍旅之屍、給於空中之鳥、野間之獸、使天下咸知以色列中有上帝、
