The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done.

耶和华的灵临到他身上，他就治理以色列人；他出去作战，耶和华把亚兰王古珊．利萨田交在他手中，他的能力就胜过了古珊．利萨田。

在玛哈尼．但（“玛哈尼．但”意即“但的军营”），就是在琐拉和以实陶中间，耶和华的灵开始感动参孙。

扫罗听了这些话，神的灵大大感动他，他就非常忿怒。

然后参孙说：“让我与非利士人同归于尽吧！”于是尽力屈身，房子就倒塌，压在众领袖和房子里所有的人身上。这样，参孙死的时候杀死的人，比他活着的时候杀死的人还多。

他对我说：“这是耶和华对所罗巴伯所说的话：‘不是倚靠权势，不是倚靠能力，而是倚靠我的灵。’这是万军之耶和华说的。

他找着一块新鲜的驴腮骨，就伸手拾起来，击杀了一千人。

大卫对扫罗说：“你仆人是为父亲放羊的，有时狮子或熊来了，从羊群中抓去一只小羊，我就出去追赶它，击打它，从它的嘴里把小羊救出来。如果它起来攻击我，我就揪住它的胡须，击打它，把它杀死。你仆人不但击杀过狮子，也击杀过熊。这个未受割礼的非利士人也必像一只狮子或熊一样，因为他向永活的神的军队骂阵。”大卫又说：“那曾救我脱离狮爪和熊掌的耶和华，也必救我脱离这非利士人的手。”于是扫罗对大卫说：“你去吧！愿耶和华与你同在。”

那时耶和华的灵临到耶弗他身上，他就经过基列和玛拿西，经过基列的米斯巴，又从基列的米斯巴去到亚扪人那里。

他不呼喊，也不扬声，也不叫人在街上听见他的声音。

我心里柔和谦卑，你们应当负我的轭，向我学习，你们就必得着心灵的安息；

参孙击打他们，连腿带腰都砍断了，那是一场极大的杀戮；然后他下去，住在以坦磐石的穴中。

今天耶和华要把你交在我手里，我必击杀你，砍下你的头。今天我还要把非利士人军队的尸体给空中的飞鸟和地上的野兽吃。这样，全地的人就都知道以色列中有一位神。
