因为耶和华的意思是要使他们的心刚硬，来与以色列人作战，好使他们全被杀灭，不蒙怜悯，反被除灭，正如耶和华所吩咐摩西的。

以色列人又行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，耶和华将他们交在非利士人手中四十年。

于是，三千犹大人下到以坦岩的石洞里，对参孙说：“非利士人辖制我们，你不知道吗？你向我们做的是什么事呢？”他说：“他们向我怎样做，我也要向他们怎样做。”

但是，我们的神在天上，万事都随自己的旨意而行。

王不依从百姓，因这事件是出于神，为要应验耶和华藉示罗人亚希雅对尼八的儿子耶罗波安所说的话。

亚哈谢去见约兰而遇害，这是出乎神；因为他一到就同约兰出去攻击宁示的孙子耶户；这耶户是耶和华所膏，使他剪除亚哈家的。

亚玛谢却不肯听从。这是出乎神，好将他们交在敌人手里，因为他们寻求以东的神明。

正与他们说话的时候，看哪，使者下到他那里，说：“看哪，这灾祸是从耶和华来的，我何必再仰望耶和华呢？”

所以你必在饥饿、干渴、赤身、缺乏中事奉仇敌，那是耶和华派来攻击你的。他必把铁轭加在你的颈项上，直到把你除灭。
