He replied,“ Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet.” For three days they could not give the answer.

Samson replied,“ Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet.” For three days they couldn’t give him the answer.

And he said to them,“ Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet.” And in three days they could not solve the riddle.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

He answered them,“ To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them.

Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he will see his offspring. He will prolong his days and Yahweh’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.Therefore I will give him a portion with the great. He will divide the plunder with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death and was counted with the transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors.

Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News,so that it became evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ,and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.For I know that this will turn out to my salvation, through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

He said,“ How can I, unless someone explains it to me?” He begged Philip to come up and sit with him.

For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,

For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.

I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”

who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with venomous snakes and scorpions, and thirsty ground where there was no water; who poured water for you out of the rock of flint;who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers didn’t know, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their plunder, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away. They took plunder for three days, it was so much.

Wisdom is too high for a fool. He doesn’t open his mouth in the gate.

Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying,“ A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar”( that is, En Gedi).

Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
