He replied,“ Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet.” For three days they could not give the answer.

Samson replied,“ Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet.” For three days they couldn’t give him the answer.

And he said to them,“ Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet.” And in three days they could not solve the riddle.

So he said:“ Out of the one who eats came something to eat; out of the strong came something sweet.” Three days later they were still trying to figure it out.

So he said to them: Out of the eater came something to eat, and out of the strong came something sweet. After three days, they were unable to explain the riddle.

So he said to them,“ Out of the eater came something to eat, And out of the strong came something sweet.” But they could not tell the answer to the riddle in three days.

He said to them,“ Out of the eater came out food. Out of the strong came out sweetness.” They couldn’t in three days declare the riddle.

我的弟兄們，你們遇到各種試煉的時候，應當看做是極大的喜樂，因為你們知道，你們的信仰經過考驗就生出忍耐；但要讓忍耐發揮完全的功效，好使你們成熟、完備，在任何事上都沒有缺欠。

耶穌回答他們，說：「天國的奧祕已經賜下來讓你們知道，而沒有賜給那些人；

但他對我說：「我的恩典是夠你用的，因為我的大能在軟弱中得以完全。」因此，我反而極其樂意地誇耀我的那些軟弱，好讓基督的能力遮蓋在我身上。所以，為了基督的緣故，我在那些軟弱中、凌辱中、艱難中、在逼迫和困苦中，都感到喜悅；因為我什麼時候軟弱，什麼時候就剛強了。

原來，耶和華的意願是要壓傷他，使他受痛楚。當他把自己的性命作為贖罪祭時，他就必看見後裔，並且年日延綿；耶和華所喜悅的必在他手中興盛。經歷過身心的苦難後，他就必看見光，並且心滿意足。「我公義的僕人必使許多人因認識他得稱為義，他也必背負他們的罪孽。因此，我必使他在偉人中分得一份，他必與強者同分戰利品，因為他澆奠了自己的性命，以至於死。他被列在罪人當中，卻擔當了眾人的罪，又為罪人代求。」

所以，孩子們既然同屬血肉之體，他也照樣同有一樣的血肉之體，為要藉著死亡來廢除那掌握死亡權勢的——就是魔鬼，並且釋放那些因怕死而終生被束縛為奴役的人。

弟兄們，我願你們知道，我的遭遇反而促進了福音的進展，以致整個王宮衛隊和所有其餘的人，都清楚我是為基督的緣故被捆鎖的；並且大多數的弟兄因著我所受的捆鎖，就在主裡深信不疑、無所懼怕，更加大膽地傳講這話語。有些人傳揚基督固然是出於嫉妒和紛爭，但也有些人是出於好意。後者是出於愛，知道我是為辯護福音而受委派的；前者傳講基督是出於爭競，不是出於真誠，想要在我的捆鎖中，增加我的患難。這到底有什麼關係呢？只是在各種方法中，無論是假意還是真心，基督都被傳開了；我為此就歡喜，並且還要歡喜，因為我知道，藉著你們的祈禱和耶穌基督之靈的幫助，事情將為我轉變以致我獲救。我的熱切盼望和期待是：我在任何事上都將不至於蒙羞；而現在也能像往常一樣，無論藉著生，還是藉著死，總要滿有膽量地讓基督在我身上被尊為大。

太監回答說：「如果沒有人指教我，我怎麼能明白呢？」他就請腓利上來和他同坐。

原來我們這暫時、輕微的患難，正為我們帶來極重無比、永恆的榮耀。

肉身的父親在短暫的日子裡，固然照著自己的意思來管教我們；但萬靈之父是為了我們的益處管教我們，好使我們在他的聖潔上有份。不過所有的管教，當時雖然不覺得是愉快的事，反覺得是憂傷的事，而後來卻為那些由此受到操練的人，結出平安和義行的果子。

然而，靠著愛我們的那一位，我們在這一切事上已經得勝有餘了。

他在木頭上，以自己的身體親自擔當了我們的罪孽，好使我們既然向罪而死，就能向義而活；因他受的鞭傷，你們得了痊癒。

我要把仇恨放在你和女人之間，放在你的後裔和女人的後裔之間；女人的後裔要重創你的頭，而你要重創他的腳跟。」

智慧對愚妄人是高深的；所以愚妄人在城門內開不了口。

不僅如此，我們也以患難誇耀，因為我們知道患難生出忍耐，忍耐生出品德，品德生出盼望，而這盼望不使人羞愧，因為神的愛藉著所賜給我們的聖靈，已經傾注在我們的心裡。
