He replied,“ Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet.” For three days they could not give the answer.

Samson replied,“ Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet.” For three days they couldn’t give him the answer.

And he said to them,“ Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet.” And in three days they could not solve the riddle.

So he said:“ Out of the one who eats came something to eat; out of the strong came something sweet.” Three days later they were still trying to figure it out.

So he said to them: Out of the eater came something to eat, and out of the strong came something sweet. After three days, they were unable to explain the riddle.

So he said to them,“ Out of the eater came something to eat, And out of the strong came something sweet.” But they could not tell the answer to the riddle in three days.

我的弟兄们，你们遇到各种试炼的时候，应当看做是极大的喜乐，因为你们知道，你们的信仰经过考验就生出忍耐；但要让忍耐发挥完全的功效，好使你们成熟、完备，在任何事上都没有缺欠。

耶稣回答他们，说：“天国的奥秘已经赐下来让你们知道，而没有赐给那些人；

但他对我说：“我的恩典是够你用的，因为我的大能在软弱中得以完全。”因此，我反而极其乐意地夸耀我的那些软弱，好让基督的能力遮盖在我身上。所以，为了基督的缘故，我在那些软弱中、凌辱中、艰难中、在逼迫和困苦中，都感到喜悦；因为我什么时候软弱，什么时候就刚强了。

原来，耶和华的意愿是要压伤他，使他受痛楚。当他把自己的性命作为赎罪祭时，他就必看见后裔，并且年日延绵；耶和华所喜悦的必在他手中兴盛。经历过身心的苦难后，他就必看见光，并且心满意足。“我公义的仆人必使许多人因认识他得称为义，他也必背负他们的罪孽。因此，我必使他在伟人中分得一份，他必与强者同分战利品，因为他浇奠了自己的性命，以至于死。他被列在罪人当中，却担当了众人的罪，又为罪人代求。”

所以，孩子们既然同属血肉之体，他也照样同有一样的血肉之体，为要藉着死亡来废除那掌握死亡权势的——就是魔鬼，并且释放那些因怕死而终生被束缚为奴役的人。

弟兄们，我愿你们知道，我的遭遇反而促进了福音的进展，以致整个王宫卫队和所有其余的人，都清楚我是为基督的缘故被捆锁的；并且大多数的弟兄因着我所受的捆锁，就在主里深信不疑、无所惧怕，更加大胆地传讲这话语。有些人传扬基督固然是出于嫉妒和纷争，但也有些人是出于好意。后者是出于爱，知道我是为辩护福音而受委派的；前者传讲基督是出于争竞，不是出于真诚，想要在我的捆锁中，增加我的患难。这到底有什么关系呢？只是在各种方法中，无论是假意还是真心，基督都被传开了；我为此就欢喜，并且还要欢喜，因为我知道，藉着你们的祈祷和耶稣基督之灵的帮助，事情将为我转变以致我获救。我的热切盼望和期待是：我在任何事上都将不至于蒙羞；而现在也能像往常一样，无论藉着生，还是藉着死，总要满有胆量地让基督在我身上被尊为大。

太监回答说：“如果没有人指教我，我怎么能明白呢？”他就请腓利上来和他同坐。

原来我们这暂时、轻微的患难，正为我们带来极重无比、永恒的荣耀。

肉身的父亲在短暂的日子里，固然照着自己的意思来管教我们；但万灵之父是为了我们的益处管教我们，好使我们在他的圣洁上有份。不过所有的管教，当时虽然不觉得是愉快的事，反觉得是忧伤的事，而后来却为那些由此受到操练的人，结出平安和义行的果子。

然而，靠着爱我们的那一位，我们在这一切事上已经得胜有余了。

他在木头上，以自己的身体亲自担当了我们的罪孽，好使我们既然向罪而死，就能向义而活；因他受的鞭伤，你们得了痊愈。

我要把仇恨放在你和女人之间，放在你的后裔和女人的后裔之间；女人的后裔要重创你的头，而你要重创他的脚跟。”

智慧对愚妄人是高深的；所以愚妄人在城门内开不了口。

不仅如此，我们也以患难夸耀，因为我们知道患难生出忍耐，忍耐生出品德，品德生出盼望，而这盼望不使人羞愧，因为神的爱藉着所赐给我们的圣灵，已经倾注在我们的心里。
