The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said,“ You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son.

The angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah’s wife. He said,“ You are not able to have children. But you are going to become pregnant. You will have a baby boy.

and it came to pass, when the time was come about, that Hannah conceived, and bare a son; and she called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of Jehovah.

And he said, At this season, when the time cometh round, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thy handmaid.

And the woman made haste, and ran, and told her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.

And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be of her.

And the angel of Jehovah found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s handmaid, whence camest thou? and whither goest thou? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, I will greatly multiply thy seed, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah hath heard thy affliction.And he shall be as a wild ass among men; his hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his brethren.And she called the name of Jehovah that spake unto her, Thou art a God that seeth: for she said, Have I even here looked after him that seeth me?

And he came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee.But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this might be.And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God.And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.And behold, Elisabeth thy kinswoman, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that was called barren.For no word from God shall be void of power.And Mary said, Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
