Then Manoah took a young goat, together with the grain offering, and sacrificed it on a rock to the Lord. And the Lord did an amazing thing while Manoah and his wife watched:

Manoah got a young goat. He brought it along with the grain offering. He sacrificed it on a rock to the Lord. Then the Lord did an amazing thing. It happened while Manoah and his wife were watching.

So Manoah took the young goat with the grain offering, and offered it on the rock to the Lord, to the one who works wonders, and Manoah and his wife were watching.

以利亚对众百姓说：“你们到我这里来。”众百姓就到他那里，他把那已经毁坏了的耶和华的坛修好。以利亚按照雅各子孙支派的数目，取了十二块石头；耶和华的话曾临到雅各，说：“你的名要叫以色列。”以利亚用这些石头为耶和华的名筑一座坛，在坛的四围挖沟，可容纳二细亚谷种。他又在坛上摆好了柴，把牛犊切成小块放在柴上，说：“你们用四个桶盛满水，倒在燔祭和柴上。”他又说：“倒第二次。”他们就倒第二次。他又说：“倒第三次。”他们就倒第三次。水流到坛的四围，沟里也满了水。到了献晚祭的时候，先知以利亚近前来，说：“耶和华—亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神啊，求你今日使人知道你是以色列的神，我是你的仆人，我遵照你的话做这一切事。求你应允我，耶和华啊，应允我，使这百姓知道你—耶和华是神，是你叫他们回心转意的。”于是，耶和华降下火来，烧尽燔祭、木柴、石头、尘土，又烧干了沟里的水。
