謂之曰、耶弗他如是云、以色列人未嘗佔據摩押地、及亞捫人之地、

saying:“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites.

and said to him,“ Thus says Jephthah:‘ Israel did not take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the people of Ammon;

and he said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah: Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon;

永恆主對我說：「你不可擾害摩押，不可以戰爭去惹他們；他們的地我不賜給你為業，因為我已將亞珥賜給羅得的子孫為業。」（

你們走近亞捫人的對面時，可別擾害他們，別去惹他們；亞捫人的地我不賜給你們為業，因為我已將那地賜給羅得的子孫為業。」（

又從那裏往前行，在亞嫩河那邊紮營；這亞嫩河是在曠野、從亞摩利人的地界流出來的；因為亞嫩河是摩押的邊界，在摩押與亞摩利人之間。因此《永恆主的戰紀》上說：『我們掃蕩了哇哈伯、和眾谿谷、亞嫩河、以及眾谿谷的下坡、就是伸展到亞珥居住之地，靠近摩押邊界的。』

因此誦歌謠的說：『你們來到希實本吧！讓它被建造吧！讓西宏的城重新被建立吧！因為有火從希實本發出，有火焰出於西宏的城廂，燒燬了摩押的亞珥，吞滅了亞嫩的山丘。摩押啊，你有禍啊！基抹的人民啊，你們滅亡啦！基抹使自己的男子成了逃難人，使自己的女子成了俘虜，交給亞摩利人的王西宏。我們射擊了他們，希實本就毁滅，直到底本；我們使那地荒涼、直到挪法、就是到米底巴。』

現在你看這些亞捫人、摩押人和西珥山人：這幾族人就是：從前以色列人從埃及地出來時、你不讓以色列人侵犯他們的；當時以色列人就轉一邊離開了他們。不除滅他們。

人們並沒有遇見我在殿裏和甚麼人辯論，或是作鼓動羣眾的事；在會堂裏沒有，在城裏也沒有。人們也不能對你證實他們如今所控告我的事。
