saying:“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites.

They said,“ Here is what Jephthah says to you. Israel didn’t take the land of Moab. They didn’t take the land of Ammon.

“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not steal any land from Moab or Ammon.

to tell him,“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites.

and they said to him,“ This is what Jephthah says:‘ Israel did not take the land of Moab nor the land of the sons of Ammon.

and said to him,“ Thus says Jephthah:‘ Israel did not take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the people of Ammon;

and he said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah: Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon;

to tell him,“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites.

And said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah, Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon:

and said to him,“ This is what Jephthah says,‘ Israel did not steal the land of Moab and the land of the Ammonites.

and he said to him,“ Jephthah says: Israel didn’t take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon;

And the Lord said to me,‘ Do not harass Moab or contend with them in battle, for I will not give you any of their land for a possession, because I have given Ar to the people of Lot for a possession.’

And when you approach the territory of the people of Ammon, do not harass them or contend with them, for I will not give you any of the land of the people of Ammon as a possession, because I have given it to the sons of Lot for a possession.’

From there they set out and camped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness that extends from the border of the Amorites, for the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.Therefore it is said in the Book of the Wars of the Lord,“ Waheb in Suphah, and the valleys of the Arnon,and the slope of the valleys that extends to the seat of Ar, and leans to the border of Moab.”

Therefore the ballad singers say,“ Come to Heshbon, let it be built; let the city of Sihon be established.For fire came out from Heshbon, flame from the city of Sihon. It devoured Ar of Moab, and swallowed the heights of the Arnon.Woe to you, O Moab! You are undone, O people of Chemosh! He has made his sons fugitives, and his daughters captives, to an Amorite king, Sihon.So we overthrew them; Heshbon, as far as Dibon, perished; and we laid waste as far as Nophah; fire spread as far as Medeba.”

And now behold, the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy—

and they did not find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the temple or in the synagogues or in the city.Neither can they prove to you what they now bring up against me.
