謂之曰、耶弗他如是云、以色列人未嘗佔據摩押地、及亞捫人之地、

saying:“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites.

They said,“ Here is what Jephthah says to you. Israel didn’t take the land of Moab. They didn’t take the land of Ammon.

and said to him,“ Thus says Jephthah: Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites,

“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not steal any land from Moab or Ammon.

and he said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah: Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon;

to tell him,“ This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites.

耶和華對我說：‘你不可敵視摩押人，也不可與他們爭戰；他們的地我不賜給你作產業，因為我已經把亞珥賜給了羅得的子孫作產業。

你走近亞捫人面前的時候，不可敵視他們，也不可與他們爭執；亞捫人的地我不賜給你們作產業，因為我已經把那地賜給了羅得的子孫作產業。

又從那裡起行，在亞嫩河那邊安營；這亞嫩河是在曠野，從亞摩利人的境內流出來；原來亞嫩河就是摩押的邊界，在摩押與亞摩利人之間。因此，在耶和華的戰書上記著：“在蘇法的哇哈伯，和亞嫩河的河谷，以及河谷的斜坡，這斜坡伸展到亞珥城的地方，就是靠近摩押邊境的。”

因此詩人說：“你們來到希實本！願西宏的城被重建，願西宏的城堅立。因為有火從希實本發出，有火燄從西宏的城冒出，吞滅了摩押的亞珥，燒毀了亞嫩河的高岡（按照《馬索拉文本》，“燒毀了亞嫩河的高岡”作“亞嫩河的高岡上的業主”﹔現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）。摩押啊，你有禍了，基抹的民哪，你們滅亡了；基抹使自己的男子逃亡，使自己的女子被擄，交給了亞摩利人的王西宏。我們射擊他們，希實本就毀滅，直到底本。我們使地荒涼，直到挪法，挪法直伸到米底巴。”

現在這裡有亞捫人、摩押人和西珥山的人，從前以色列人從埃及地出來的時候，你不許以色列人侵犯他們。那時，以色列人就離開了他們，不除滅他們。

無論在殿裡、會堂中或城裡，他們都沒有看見我跟人辯論，或煽動群眾作亂，也不能向你證明他們現在控告我的事。
