So Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the sons of Ammon, saying,“ What conflict do you and I have, that you have come to me to fight against my land?”

耶弗大遣使者至亞捫族、告其王曰、我與爾何與、爾至斯土、攻我曷故。

Then Jephthah sent messengers to the Ammonite king with the question:“ What do you have against me that you have attacked my country?”

Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of Ammon. They asked,“ What do you have against me? Why have you attacked my country?”

Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites and said,“ What do you have against me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?”

Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of Ammon, asking,“ Why have you come out to fight against my land?”

Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites, asking,“ What do you have against me that you have come to fight me in my land?”

Now Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the people of Ammon, saying,“ What do you have against me, that you have come to fight against me in my land?”

And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come unto me to fight against my land?

Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites, saying,“ What do you have against me that you have come to fight against me in my land?”

And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come against me to fight in my land?

Jephthah sent messengers to the Ammonite king, saying,“ Why have you come against me to attack my land?”

Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the children of Ammon, saying,“ What do you have to do with me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?”

“ So I sent messengers from the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,

Do not go out hastily to argue your case; Otherwise, what will you do in the end, When your neighbor humiliates you?Argue your case with your neighbor, And do not reveal the secret of another,

From Kadesh Moses then sent messengers to the king of Edom to say,“ This is what your brother Israel has said:‘ You know all the hardship that has overtaken us;

“ When you approach a city to fight against it, you shall offer it terms of peace.And if it agrees to make peace with you and opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall become your forced labor and serve you.

Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying,“ Come, let’s face each other in combat.”But Jehoash king of Israel sent messengers to Amaziah king of Judah, saying,“ The thorn bush that was in Lebanon sent word to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying,‘ Give your daughter to my son in marriage.’ But a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled the thorn bush.You have indeed defeated Edom, and your heart is elated. Enjoy the glory and stay home; for why should you get involved in trouble so that you would fall, you and Judah with you?”But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and they faced each other, he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Beth shemesh, which belongs to Judah.And Judah was defeated by Israel, and they fled, every man to his tent.

Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon, king of the Amorites, saying,

“ Now if your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother.But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that on the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be confirmed.
