我们不敢以为自己有资格作什么，我们所能够作的是出于神。

耶和华我的神啊，现在你使仆人接续我的父亲大卫作王，但我还年轻，不知道应当怎样处事。仆人住在你拣选的子民中；这些子民很多，多得不能数算。所以，求你赐给仆人一颗明辨的心，可以判断你的子民，能辨别是非，因为谁能判断你这众多的子民呢？”

你们中间若有人缺少智慧，就当向那厚赐众人，而且不斥责人的神祈求，他就必得着。

大卫知道扫罗设计害他，就对亚比亚他祭司说：“把以弗得拿来！”大卫说：“耶和华以色列的神啊！你仆人确实听见了扫罗想要到基伊拉来，为了我的缘故要毁灭这城。基伊拉人会把我交在扫罗的手里吗？扫罗会照着你仆人所听到的下来吗？耶和华以色列的神啊！求你告诉你仆人。”耶和华说：“他必下来。”大卫又说：“基伊拉人会把我和跟随我的人交在扫罗手里吗？”耶和华说：“他们必把你们交出来。”

各样美好的赏赐，各样完备的恩赐，都是从上面、从众光之父降下来的，他本身并没有改变，也没有转动的影子。
