he became angry with them. He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and the Ammonites,

So the Lord became very angry with them. He handed them over to the Philistines and the Ammonites.

So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the Ammonites,

So the Lord burned with anger against Israel, and he turned them over to the Philistines and the Ammonites,

So the LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them to the Philistines and the Ammonites.

And the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.

So the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the people of Ammon.

And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

So the Lord’s anger burned against Israel, and He sold them to the Philistines and the Ammonites.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.

The LORD was furious with Israel and turned them over to the Philistines and Ammonites.

Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

故耶和華怒以色列族、付於四周之敵、為人所虜、莫能扞禦。

耶和華乃上帝、有不敬者、斷不容之、不敬之人、耶和華必以為敵、憤怒奮發、加以重罰、屢怒不已。

厥怒奮發、若山巔出火、孰能自立、厥氣憤烈、若磐巖崩裂、孰能得生、

爾不祐我、如鬻選民、雖得價值、於爾無所加兮、

民既忘其上帝耶和華、耶和華付之於夏朔軍長西西喇、又付於非利士人、摩押王、使與戰鬥。民籲耶和華曰、我棄耶和華、事諸巴力亞大綠、以干罪戾、今可拯我於敵、我仍事爾。

耶和華告以色列族曰、爾母見出、必有離書、離書云何、爾身見鬻、必有所償、所償伊誰、爾母見出、爾身見鬻、乃罪應爾。

謂摩西曰、爾必返本、斯民既詣斯土、必遺棄我、背我所立之約、狥己私欲、從異邦人之上帝。其時我必震怒、遺棄斯民、不復眷顧、使其並吞於人、多更災患、彼必曰、我不蒙上帝所佑、致遭此禍。夫斯民蹈於愆尤、從事他上帝、故不復鑒觀以眷顧之、

彼崇他上帝、干厥震怒。彼事可惡之物、攖其忿懥、彼祭鬼神、不崇上帝、彼崇他上帝素所未識、初從鄰國而來、即其祖宗亦未嘗敬畏。生成之上帝、彼棄而不從、造化之上帝、彼忘而弗念。耶和華見其子女、作可惡之事、憎之特甚、曰、我不復鑒觀以眷顧之、必俟厥後當復如何、彼乃橫逆之族、無誠信之子、彼以非上帝匹我、干我震怒、彼崇事虛無、使我忿懥、故我將子異民、使彼發奮、子頑民、使彼激勵。我之忿怒如火之燎、燃於幽冥、爇其全地、偕土產以俱焚、並山基而同燬。

若此者耶和華必不赦宥、其怒甚烈、以致中心如焚、氣如煙燄、必攻此人、以書所載之詛、加乎其身、塗抹其名於天下、在以色列諸支派中、耶和華必區別之、加以譴責、循此書所載之詛言。後世子孫、遠方賓旅、列邦眾庶、見此地之禍、暨耶和華所降之災、硫磺及鹽、焚燬徧地、不得耕耘、無物產、無草萊、如所多馬、蛾摩拉、押馬、西編、為耶和華所怒、而使之傾覆者、俱必問曰、耶和華降罰於斯土、何為至於如此、其烈怒之甚、又曷故乎。人必曰、昔導斯民出於埃及、其祖之上帝耶和華與之立約、斯民違其言、從他上帝而崇奉之、然他上帝彼所未識、耶和華亦未嘗姑聽其服事、故震怒斯民、以書所載之咒詛、加乎其身。耶和華怒甚烈、氣甚憤、拔其根株、驅逐於異邦、即以今日之事為證。

上帝兮、昔爾牧民、猶牧群羊、何為棄予如遺、加以震怒、氣如烟燄兮、

耶和華付於都夏朔之迦南王耶賓、居外邦夏羅設之西西喇、為其軍長、

爾上帝耶和華所許諸福、既臨於爾、爾反其道、則爾上帝耶和華亦必使諸禍降臨、迨爾滅亡、在爾上帝耶和華所賜之腴壤。如爾背爾上帝耶和華所命之約、服事崇拜他上帝、則耶和華必震怒爾、使爾速亡、於其所賜之腴壤。
