耶和華對以色列人說：“我不是曾經拯救你們脫離埃及人、亞摩利人、亞捫人和非利士人嗎？

The Lord replied,“ When the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,

The Lord replied,“ The Egyptians and Amorites treated you badly. So did the Ammonites and Philistines.

And the Lord said to the people of Israel,“ Did I not save you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the Ammonites and from the Philistines?

The Lord replied,“ Did I not rescue you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,

The LORD said to the Israelites,“ When the Egyptians, Amorites, Ammonites, Philistines,

And the Lord said to the sons of Israel,“ Did I not save you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the sons of Ammon, and the Philistines?

So the Lord said to the children of Israel,“ Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites and from the people of Ammon and from the Philistines?

And Jehovah said unto the children of Israel, Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

The Lord said to the Israelites,“ When the Egyptians, Amorites, Ammonites, Philistines,

這樣，耶和華就在那一天把以色列人從埃及人的手裡拯救了出來；以色列人看見埃及人都死在海邊。

以笏之後，有亞拿的兒子珊迦；他用趕牛棒擊殺了六百非利士人；他也拯救了以色列人。

以色列人派使者去見亞摩利人的王西宏說：“求你容我們從你的地經過；我們不偏入田間和葡萄園，也不喝井裡的水；我們只走大路，直到過了你的境界。”西宏不容以色列人從他的境界經過，反而聚集了自己的人民，出到曠野去攻擊以色列人，西宏到了雅雜，與以色列人交戰。以色列人用刀擊殺了他，佔領了他的地，從亞嫩河到雅博河，直到亞捫人那裡，因為雅謝是亞捫人的邊界（本句或譯﹕“因為亞捫人有堅固的邊防”）。以色列人奪取了這一切城，也住在亞摩利人的各城，就是希實本，與屬於希實本的一切村莊。

因著信，他們走過了紅海，好像走過旱地一樣；埃及人也試著要過去，就被淹沒了。

從前雅各到了埃及，後來你們的列祖哀求耶和華，耶和華就差遣摩西和亞倫去把你們的列祖從埃及領出來，又使他們在這地方居住。

他擊殺了多國的民，殺戮了強悍的王，就是亞摩利王西宏、巴珊王噩，和迦南列國的王。

於是國中太平了四十年。後來基納斯的兒子俄陀聶死了。以色列人又行了耶和華看為惡的事，耶和華就使摩押王伊磯倫強盛起來，欺壓以色列人，因為他們行了耶和華看為惡的事。伊磯倫集合了亞捫人和亞瑪力人，前來擊敗了以色列人，佔領了棕樹城。於是以色列人服事了摩押王伊磯倫十八年。以色列人向耶和華哀求的時候，耶和華就為他們興起一位拯救者，就是便雅憫人基拉的兒子以笏，是一個用左手的人。以色列人派他把貢物送給摩押王伊磯倫。

但他因自己的名的緣故拯救他們，為要彰顯他的大能。他斥責紅海，海就乾了；他領他們走過海底，像經過曠野一樣。他拯救他們脫離憎恨他們的人的手，從仇敵的手中救贖了他們。海水淹沒了他們的敵人，連一個也沒有留下。

耶和華的使者從吉甲上到波金來，說：“我曾經把你們從埃及領上來，帶你們到我向你們列祖起誓應許的地方；我曾說過：‘我永不廢棄我與你們所立的約；你們不可與這地的居民立約，要拆毀他們的祭壇。’你們竟沒有聽從我的話；你們作的是甚麼呢？因此我又說：‘我必不把他們從你們面前趕走，他們要作你們的敵人（按照《馬索拉文本》，“敵人”作“邊旁”，意思不明確，或譯﹕“網羅”﹔現參照各古譯本翻譯），他們的神要作你們的網羅。’”

於是，他們殺了噩和他的兒子，以及他的眾民，沒有留下一個，就佔領了他的地。

你看見我們的列祖在埃及所受的困苦，垂聽他們在紅海的哀求，因為你知道埃及人怎樣狂妄自大地對待他們，所以就對法老和他的一切臣僕，以及他國中所有的人民，施行神蹟奇事，為你自己建立了至今仍存的名聲。你又在我們的列祖面前把海分開，使他們在海中的乾地上走過去；把追趕他們的人丟在深處，好像石頭拋進怒海之中。

他在埃及擊殺了所有的長子，在含的帳棚中擊殺了他們強壯時生的頭胎子。他卻把自己的子民領出來好像領羊群，在曠野引導他們像引導群畜一樣。他帶領他們平平安安地走過去，所以他們不懼怕；海卻淹沒了他們的仇敵。
